Job Description

Mountain Home Police Department is looking for a sharp, dependable, quick‑thinking Communications Officer / Secretary to join our team! If you thrive in fast‑paced environments, enjoy helping people, and can juggle radio calls, paperwork, and public interactions with professionalism and a smile, we want to meet you. What You'll Do (
AKA:
Your Superpowers): Be the lifeline for our community by answering emergency and non‑emergency calls and dispatching police, fire, and EMS. Keep officers safe through radio checks, location updates, and real‑time communication. Manage essential logs, reports, and records that help keep our department running smoothly. Operate
ACIC/NCIC
systems to enter warrants, missing persons, stolen property, and more. (You'll take an ACIC course within 90 days!) Monitor park cameras and License Plate Reader (LPR) alerts, you're basically behind‑the‑scenes crime‑fighting tech support. Provide top‑notch customer service at the front desk: greet visitors, answer inquiries, take payments, and keep office files organized. Keep confidentiality like a champ and follow federal, state, county, and city guidelines every step of the way.

Minimum Requirements:
At least 18 years old. U.S. Citizen. Valid Arkansas driver's license. Ability to pass required training and maintain confidentiality.

From $16.26 per hour
