About GYAC The Gifford Youth Achievement Center creates educational, cultural, social, and wellness opportunities that empower youth, strengthen families, support seniors, and enhance the quality of life for the Gifford community and the broader Indian River County community. Building on its legacy of advancing educational opportunity, GYAC is expanding its multi-generational model of impact through youth achievement and career readiness, senior wellness and lifelong learning, adult and family engagement, community outreach and partnerships, operational excellence, and data-informed sustainability. Position Overview The Marketing and Communications Manager leads GYAC's marketing, communications, branding, and public relations efforts to increase visibility, strengthen engagement, support fundraising, and share the organization's multi-generational impact across youth, families, adults, seniors, and the broader community. This role requires a creative storyteller and strategic communicator who can translate programs, partnerships, and outcomes into clear, compelling messages. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Marketing and Brand Management Develop and implement annual marketing and communications plans aligned with organizational goals. Maintain and strengthen GYAC's brand identity, messaging, and visual standards. Identify opportunities to increase visibility, community engagement, and organizational awareness. Monitor marketing trends and recommend innovative strategies to expand outreach. Align marketing and communications strategies with GYAC priorities, including youth achievement and career readiness, senior wellness and lifelong learning, adult and family engagement, community outreach, operational excellence, and sustainability. Content Creation and Storytelling Create and manage all organizational marketing and communications content, including newsletters, annual reports, brochures, flyers, impact reports, fundraising campaigns, event materials, website content, social media content, and promotional materials. Gather and share stories that highlight youth achievement, career readiness, senior wellness, adult and family engagement, community outreach, participant outcomes, staff accomplishments, partnerships, and community impact. Manage organizational photography, videography, and digital content libraries. Ensure all communications accurately reflect GYAC's mission, vision, and values. Translate program data, success measures, and impact trends into accessible stories, reports, presentations, and donor-facing materials. Digital Marketing and Social Media Manage and maintain the organization's website and digital presence. Develop and execute social media strategies across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other relevant channels. Create and schedule engaging content to increase audience growth and engagement. Monitor analytics and prepare reports on campaign effectiveness and digital performance. Public Relations and Media Relations Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries. Develop press releases, media advisories, and public statements. Cultivate relationships with local and regional media outlets, community organizations, and stakeholders. Coordinate media coverage of programs, events, and special initiatives. Fundraising and Development Support Collaborate with the Development team to create marketing materials supporting fundraising campaigns and donor engagement activities. Assist with grant-related communications, outcome data summaries, impact reporting, and sponsorship recognition. Support stewardship efforts through donor communications, success stories, participant testimonials, measurable outcomes, and community impact narratives. Help promote special campaigns, giving days, and capital initiatives. Event Marketing and Community Engagement Develop promotional plans for organizational events, workshops, fundraisers, wellness activities, lifelong learning opportunities, career readiness initiatives, and community programs. Coordinate event-related communications, advertising, and marketing materials. Represent GYAC at community meetings, events, and networking opportunities as needed. Build and support communications partnerships that enhance community awareness, program participation, donor engagement, and cross-generational community impact. Communications Management Manage organizational communication calendars and project timelines. Ensure consistency and quality across all internal and external communications. Develop crisis communication strategies when necessary. Maintain compliance with privacy, branding, and communication standards. Coordinate communication tools, calendars, and reporting content that support organizational accountability, program visibility, and data-informed decision-making. Additional Responsibilities Carry out other duties as assigned by the Executive Director to support evolving organizational needs. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, or a related field required. Experience Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or nonprofit engagement. Experience managing social media platforms, websites, and digital marketing campaigns. Experience developing content for multiple audiences and communication channels. Experience communicating program outcomes, impact data, or community benefit to donors, partners, public audiences, or internal leadership. Nonprofit experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong storytelling and content development abilities. Knowledge of branding, public relations, and marketing best practices. Proficiency with social media management tools and analytics platforms. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word), Hootsuite, Canva, Google Photos, Asana, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator Experience managing website content through content management systems. Strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Ability to interpret program information and impact metrics and communicate them clearly to varied audiences. Preferred Qualifications Experience in youth development, education, senior services, wellness programming, community development, or nonprofit organizations. Photography and video production experience. Knowledge of fundraising communications and donor engagement strategies. Experience with email marketing platforms and CRM systems. Familiarity with community outreach and stakeholder engagement initiatives. Familiarity with multi-generational programming, community partnerships, and outcome-based nonprofit communications. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods. Ability to travel locally to events, meetings, and program locations. Ability to lift and carry marketing materials and event supplies up to 25 pounds.
