Donor Relations Officer, University Advancement

Job Description

Description Dartmouth Advancement is seeking a talented development writer to join our University Advancement team as a Donor Relations Officer. In this role, you will provide strategic support to our Senior Vice President for Transformational Strategy and Philanthropy in the cultivation and solicitation of prospects. You will research gift opportunities, craft compelling proposals and stewardship materials, draft prospect briefings, and implement and support communication and engagement strategies to help move our most significant prospects toward transformative gifts. It's a chance to put your strategic communications skills at the center of Dartmouth's fundraising success. What You'll Do Craft high-level correspondence and proposals for the SVP, President, deans, and other campus leaders and key stakeholders to advance donor relationships. Write and manage prospect outreach, including visit communications, solicitation and stewardship materials. Research prospects and develop tailored gift proposals across unrestricted, restricted, and planned giving. Prepare briefings and remarks that set leadership up for successful donor meetings and events. Manage gift documentation to ensure accurate, timely recording and closure. Requirements Bachelor's degree and at least three years of experience in fundraising, marketing, communications, or a related field Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a sharp eye for detail Comfort managing a high volume of competing priorities in a complex organization A creative, entrepreneurial spirit and a strong collaborative approach Given the collaborative nature of this work, this role is on site in Hanover, NH four days a week, with one flexible remote day.
