More than 40% of households in Westchester and Putnam are living in poverty or paycheck to paycheck—what we call ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed). Our work is focused on helping families meet immediate needs while creating opportunities for a stronger future. UWWP operates with an approximately $12 million budget and a team of approximately 40 full-time and 60 part-time employees, collectively generating nearly $43 million in community impact. Our work includes our 211 Information and Referral Helpline, food distribution, education initiatives, community partnerships, and other programs serving families throughout Westchester and Putnam. About the Opportunity United Way of Westchester and Putnam (UWWP) is seeking a creative, strategic, and hands-on Director of Marketing & Communications to lead our brand, storytelling, digital communications, media relations, and marketing efforts. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this position will work closely with our President & CEO and Leadership Team to tell the story of UWWP's impact, increase awareness of our work, engage donors and community partners, and ensure our communications reflect the strength and breadth of our mission. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys both strategy and execution. One day you may be developing an organizational communications strategy; the next, designing a campaign, creating social content, updating our website, producing a video, writing a press release, or supporting a major community event. We are looking for someone who can bring ideas to the table and bring those ideas to life. What You'll Do Develop and execute an integrated marketing and communications strategy that increases UWWP's visibility, engagement, and philanthropic support. Lead UWWP's brand strategy and ensure consistency across organizational communications. Manage and update UWWP's WordPress website and digital presence. Create compelling graphic design for digital and print materials, including social media graphics, presentations, newsletters, invitations, event materials, and marketing collateral. Develop and execute social media strategies focused on audience growth and engagement. Produce and edit video and photography content for social media, web, events, and organizational communications. Write and edit press releases, media advisories, newsletters, web copy, blogs, campaigns, and social media content. Develop relationships with traditional and emerging media and lead proactive media outreach. Collaborate with Resource Development on fundraising campaigns, events, photography, video, and donor communications. Partner across 211, Community Impact, Resource Development, Operations, and executive leadership to develop effective communications strategies. Use analytics and communications metrics to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for growth. Help develop a long-term strategic marketing and communications plan that broadens our audience, strengthens donor engagement, and keeps constituents connected to UWWP throughout the year. What We're Looking For Our ideal candidate combines creativity with strong execution. You should be comfortable managing multiple projects, working independently, collaborating with senior leadership, and adapting to changing priorities. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field; 2+ years of relevant digital communications experience; proficiency with WordPress and graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite; social media management experience; strong video editing and production skills; photography and photo-editing skills; and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is a strong storyteller, creative thinker, collaborative partner, and doer. Compensation & Benefits The salary for this full-time, exempt position is $80,000 annually. UWWP offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees professionally, personally, and financially: 15 vacation days, increasing to 20 after five years. 11 paid holidays, 12 sick days, 2 personal days Health insurance: 100% of individual coverage paid by UWWP; 50% of spouse/family coverage paid by UWWP, with the employee responsible for the remaining 50% of the difference.

Ability to opt into additional insurance and benefit options, including vision, pet, legal, AFLAC, and other available plans. Two employer-paid life insurance policies, with coverage equal to salary. Employer-paid disability coverage after six months of employment. 403(b) retirement plan: employees are eligible to contribute after one month of employment; UWWP contributes 5% after one year of employment.
