Full-time with benefits; exempt from overtime regulations. The Haitian Project, an association of the lay faithful in the Diocese of Providence, is a Rhode Island-based Catholic nonprofit that supports and oversees one of the best secondary education programs in Haiti, focused on the formation of Haiti's future servant-leaders so that the country may realize a brighter future built by and for Haitians themselves. Under the direction of the President, the Director of Advancement is responsible for the Project's annual giving program. The Director executes fundraising, donor relations and external engagement activities to generate the support necessary for The Haitian Project to achieve its mission and expand its community. Building on existing structures, the Director cultivates parish and school outreach, regional community-building activity and planned giving. This position represents an opportunity for growth and a long-term career in a mission-oriented environment, with the intention of promotion to a senior leadership position. Salary range is $85,000 to $95,000 a year, depending on experience, with great benefits including health insurance, life and long-term disability insurance, retirement, educational assistance, and generous leave. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Build on and maintain funding and community relationships with individuals, parishes, schools and organizations; develop and drive strategies that lead to new support and community engagement. Develop, manage and present at community activities with the goal of increasing the Project's network of support, engaging stakeholders, and deepening the community's knowledge of the Project's charism and mission. Manage and cultivate the Project's parish and school outreach program, including making presentations. Spend considerable time communicating personally with current and prospective supporters to build relationships and identify new avenues of support. Manage grant applications and expand support from foundations and organizations. Further the development of the planned giving program. Ensure the development of presentation and promotional materials. Achieve the most effective use of the Project's CRM for fundraising purposes. Engage with finance staff to align fundraising targets with short- and long-term financial planning and goals. Support the President in their efforts as the primary fundraiser, including managing special projects and meetings. At the direction of the President, represent the Project in its engagement with the Diocese. Attend meetings of, present to and provide expertise and support to the development committee and the board. Manage strategic partnerships related to resource and community development. Manage the Advancement office and personnel, and work with other team members to achieve Advancement goals.
Requirements:
Background check is required. Practicing, active Catholic in good standing. Alignment and commitment to The Haitian Project's mission is essential. This position is full-time onsite at The Haitian Project's headquarters in North Kingstown, RI. This position requires extended hours, including evenings and weekends, during key initiatives and as needed. Bachelor's degree. At least three to five years of relevant development experience. Master's degree or certification in a related field may be considered towards experience. Ability to travel frequently, both regionally and nationally. A strong, independent and proactive drive to achieve the Project's development and networking activity. Motivated self-starter with strong organizational, time-management, problem-analysis and problem-solving skills. Strong initiative and follow-through; ability to proactively push strategic goals forward. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and comfortability with public speaking; desire to actively and regularly communicate with people. Extensive experience managing a CRM, preferably Salesforce. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

$85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
