At the heart of this role is content strategy: identifying the stories, messages and moments that matter most; determining how and where to tell them; and creating compelling content that reaches the right audiences. This person also will support advocacy and external affairs efforts, helping communicate our work to policymakers, community leaders, donors and other key stakeholders. This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone with at least three years of experience who combines strong strategic instincts with the talent and drive to execute at a high level. Responsibilities Content Strategy & Storytelling Develop content strategies and editorial calendars that advance organizational priorities across channels and audiences. Proactively uncover and tell compelling stories about students, educators, Scholarship recipients and the impact of our work. Own day-to-day content execution across social media, internal and external newsletters and websites, from developing and sourcing content to creating, publishing and measuring performance. Advocacy & External Communications Develop audience-specific communications for policymakers, education leaders, donors, community partners and other key stakeholders. Draft memos, speeches, talking points, presentations and briefing materials, translating complex issues and data into clear, compelling messages. Support media relations by identifying newsworthy stories, drafting press materials and pitches, responding to media inquiries and helping prepare spokespeople. Events & Special Projects Support communications and creative execution for major events, announcements, advocacy efforts and organizational initiatives. Shape event messaging and audience experience, including speeches, presentations and supporting materials. Qualifications Approximately five years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, public affairs or a related field. Exceptional writing and editing skills with experience developing content and communications across audiences, channels and formats. Experience with social media and digital content required; experience with advocacy, public affairs or media relations preferred.
