ABOUT PROKIDS
ProKids is a nonprofit agency that provides outstanding volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children in Hamilton County, who through no fault of their own, are in the child protection system. We recruit, train, and support CASA Volunteers to provide a powerful voice to these children. Children assigned to a CASA Volunteer are successful. A national study shows that children with CASA volunteers spend less time in long-term foster care and move less often. At ProKids, our Outcome Measures demonstrate the effectiveness of CASA Volunteers.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Communications & Events Coordinator supports ProKids' mission by coordinating communications initiatives and creating engaging experiences that strengthen relationships with volunteers, donors, community partners, board members, and staff. This position manages the organization's social media presence, assists with marketing and communications projects, coordinates volunteer and donor cultivation events, and provides logistical support for internal staff events. The ideal candidate is highly organized, creative, detail-oriented, and enjoys balancing communications, event planning, and project coordination.
LOCATION
This position will be a hybrid position and requires employees to be in the office 1 day per week as well as for team and staff meetings and ProKids events and trainings. Other in-office days may be required based on the position and will be determined by the supervisor.

  • Mileage reimbursement PAY Starting at $37,000 annually based on a 35-hour work week.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Communications Manage ProKids' social media platforms, including planning content calendars, creating and scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and analyzing performance metrics, including coordinating photography, videography, and storytelling efforts to highlight ProKids' impact as part of social Maintain brand standards across communications materials. Assist with website content updates and digital communications. Support media relations efforts by preparing materials and coordinating logistics as needed. Events Plan, coordinate, and execute volunteer and donor cultivation events from initial planning through post-event follow-up working cross-team to involve necessary stakeholders. Coordinate event logistics including venues, vendors, registrations, catering, audiovisual needs, signage, materials, and volunteers. Assist with agency-wide staff events, celebrations, and recognition activities. Manage event timelines, budgets, and project plans to ensure successful execution. Maintain event records and evaluate event outcomes to recommend future improvements. Project Coordination Assist with agency-wide communications and marketing initiatives. Coordinate production schedules and timelines for communications projects. Maintain inventories of promotional materials and event supplies. Support fundraising and volunteer recruitment campaigns through communications and event coordination. Collaborate across departments to ensure communications and events support organizational priorities.
GENERAL PROKIDS RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists with the setting and evaluation of all agency goals and objectives with primary focus on the Operational Team impact of each goal or objective.
  • Acquires and maintains a working knowledge of other team's programs and practices to encourage good communication and collaboration.
  • Benchmarks with other CASA programs and organizations for best and leading practices.
  • Ensures the effective representation of ProKids to external organizations and individuals.
  • Communicates the need for volunteers and provides assistance in designing and implementing volunteer training. Supervises, manages, supports, evaluates, and communicates on-going status of volunteers.
  • Performs duties in accordance with ProKids objectives, values and in compliance with relevant standards and agency commitments.
  • Attends all staff meetings and establishes good teamwork with co-workers.
  • Ensures common office spaces are ready for the next person, maintained, and stocked with essential supplies. Notifies Business Operations of maintenance and supply needs.
  • Ensures commitment to and the practice of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles embraced by ProKids.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma
  • Two or more years of experience in communications, marketing, event planning, or nonprofit development.
  • Experience managing organizational social media accounts.
  • Experience planning and coordinating events.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365.
  • Experience using Canva or similar graphic design software.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms and website content management systems is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation for event support.
