Immediately\nJob Description\nAttendance, Communication, and Engagement Specialist\nPosition Summary\nWorking from a CCA Family Service Center, the Attendance, Communication, and Engagement Specialist is responsible for daily implementation and operationalization of CCA's compulsory school attendance and engagement processes and supporting regular school attendance, course engagement, and lesson completion for learners. This position coordinates with teachers and administrators and other school staff to identify learners who meet or are at risk of meeting …\nThe individual must carry out all responsibilities in such a way that demonstrates and models the values of CCA, abides by all standards and behaves in a professional and engaged manner at all times.

Responsibilities:

\nParticipate in the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of the school attendance and engagement requirements in accordance with Pennsylvania's Public School Code and school policies, guidelines, and procedures.\nMaintain knowledge of state compulsory school attendance requirements and ensure school attendance and engagement requirements are communicated to enrolled families.\nEvaluate weekly attendance data and monitor learners who have accumulated excessive absences or overdue lessons, and responds according to applicable resolution and action protocols.\nContact learners who are noncompliant or at risk of noncompliance with compulsory school attendance and engagement requirements.\nSend, track, and record written correspondence to learners regarding violation of compulsory school attendance and engagement requirements.\nSchedule and participate in compulsory school attendance and engagement conferences and meetings with learners, families, and other appropriate school and community stakeholders and supports.\nIdentify barriers to school attendance and engagement, and seek support from school staff and community-based resources to eliminate and resolve barriers and challenges.\nIn consultation with teachers and administrators, develop and communicate to learners and caretakers school attendance and engagement improvement plans.\nCommunicate school attendance and engagement improvement plans to teachers, administrators, and school staff.\nTrack learner compliance with school attendance and engagement improvement plans and respond accordingly based on applicable protocols.\nConduct home and community visits to learners identified as being noncompliant or at risk of noncompliance with school attendance and engagement requirements.\nCoordination with and make appropriate referrals to school-based or community-based attendance improvement programs or the county children and youth agency for services and required action.\nFile citations, communicate with magisterial district courts, and prepare for and attend truancy hearings.\nDocument, organize, and maintain a record of all written and oral communications any other documents used in the school attendance and engagement processes, including entry of information in school data systems.\nOther duties as assigned.\n

Competencies:

\nBachelor's Degree or related work experience.\nFamiliarity with Pennsylvania compulsory school attendance requirements and programs.\nExcellent organization and written and oral communications skills.\nCustomer focused approach.\nHigh degree of flexibility.\nDemonstrated ability to work well in fast paced environment.\nTeam player track record.\nAbility to travel, including overnight stays as required.\nWork Environment\nThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.\nPhysical Demands\nThis is largely a sedentary role. Requires the ability to lift, squat, sit, bend or stand as necessary.
