About the Internship Are you always capturing content, creating Reels or TikToks, or spotting the latest social media trend before everyone else? The Golden State Storm is looking for a creative, social-media-savvy college student, graduate student, or recent graduate to join our marketing team as a Digital Content Creator Intern. This is an unpaid educational internship designed to provide hands-on learning, mentorship, portfolio development, and practical experience in sports marketing and digital content creation within a professional women's sports organization. Working alongside experienced marketing professionals, you'll learn how a sports organization plans, creates, and evaluates social media content while gaining experience capturing behind-the-scenes moments, player personalities, community events, and game day experiences. Learning & Responsibilities As part of the internship, you will receive guidance and hands-on experience in: Capturing behind-the-scenes content using a smartphone at games, practices, community events, and media days Creating Instagram Reels and TikTok videos and learning how trends can be adapted for a sports brand Brainstorming and pitching new content ideas Editing short-form vertical video using CapCut or similar tools Learning how a sports marketing team plans and manages social media content Reviewing content performance and learning what drives audience engagement Collaborating with and receiving feedback from members of the Storm marketing team Ideal Candidate Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate, in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, Sports Management, Film, or a related field Active user of TikTok and Instagram with a strong understanding of current trends Comfortable filming and editing content using a smartphone Creative, dependable, collaborative, and eager to learn Passion for sports and women's athletics What You'll Gain Hands-on learning experience within a professional women's sports organization Practical training in sports marketing and short-form digital content Real-world work samples to build your portfolio Mentorship, coaching, and feedback from experienced marketing professionals Exposure to content planning, game-day marketing, community engagement, and sports brand development Opportunities to build relationships within the sports industry Internship Term & Commitment This is an unpaid educational internship running from October 2026 through June 2027. Interns will not receive wages or other financial compensation for participation in the program. The internship is expected to require approximately 5-10 hours per week, with scheduling varying based on team activities and events. Activity will increase from January through June during preseason and the competitive season. The internship is structured as a learning experience with an emphasis on training, mentorship, skill development, portfolio building, and exposure to professional sports marketing. Interns will receive ongoing guidance and feedback from members of the Storm marketing team. Participation in the internship does not guarantee or create an expectation of paid employment with the Golden State Storm upon completion. Where applicable, the Storm is happy to work with a student's college or university to support academic credit or internship requirements.
