Part-Time Social Media Content Creator (Independent Contractor) Kuldesac.com is seeking a creative, self-motivated Part-Time Social Media Content Creator to help grow our brand across multiple social media platforms. This is an independent contractor position offering approximately 10 hours per week (2 days per week, approximately 5 hours per day) with a flexible schedule. This hybrid-remote role combines remote work with regular in-person content planning and production sessions at local coffee shops, businesses, events, and other filming locations throughout the area. About the Role We are looking for someone who is comfortable owning the entire content creation process from concept to publication. The ideal candidate enjoys brainstorming creative ideas, planning content strategies, filming, editing, writing engaging captions, and managing social media publishing schedules. This is a hands-on creative position where you'll work directly with company management to help shape our social media presence and long-term content strategy. Our content focuses on topics including: Home service providers and local businesses Educational and informative home service content Company updates and brand awareness Community involvement Local events we attend or host Behind-the-scenes content Customer and business spotlight features Responsibilities Brainstorm and develop creative content ideas Assist with content planning and production schedules Capture professional video and audio for social media content Coordinate filming logistics with featured businesses, actors, models, or other participants when needed Edit short-form and long-form video content Create graphics and supporting visual assets Write engaging captions and social media copy Schedule and publish content across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube using scheduling platforms Help analyze content performance and contribute ideas for continuous improvement Collaborate directly with company management on future creative initiatives Qualifications Strong creativity and storytelling ability Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience creating content for social media platforms Comfortable appearing behind the camera as well as working behind it when needed Experience with video editing software Experience using Canva and Adobe Photoshop (or similar graphic design software) Familiarity with social media scheduling platforms such as Metricool or similar tools Strong organizational skills and ability to manage projects independently Reliable, professional, and self-motivated Comfortable working in a startup environment where ideas move quickly Preferred Qualifications English fluency, with additional language fluency a big plus Familiarity with home services industries such as landscaping, roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pressure washing, remodeling, flooring, pest control, and similar trades Photography or videography experience Experience coordinating content shoots involving multiple participants Knowledge of current social media trends and platform best practices Equipment Professional content creation equipment will be provided, including cameras, lenses, lighting, wireless microphones, audio recording equipment, and related accessories. Applicants are not required to own professional production equipment. As our content strategy evolves, additional equipment will be acquired as needed. Work Schedule Approximately 10 hours per week Two flexible workdays each week Approximately five hours per day Hybrid-remote position with regular in-person planning meetings and content creation sessions Occasional attendance at local businesses, events, and filming locations Requirements Must own a reliable vehicle and have dependable transportation Must be comfortable traveling locally for content creation Must be authorized to earn an income in the United States (You'll receive a 1099 after having earned $600 in payments within the year) Independent Contractor Information This position is offered as an independent contractor (1099) opportunity. Compensation is paid via check or transfer. At this time, no employee benefits are offered.
