Position Overview Nexus Game Lounge is seeking a creative, outgoing, and enthusiastic Social Media Content Creator & Player Experience Associate . This is a hybrid position combining social media content production with hands-on retail, customer-service, and event responsibilities. The successful candidate will create photos, videos, graphics, and written content that showcases the personality of Nexus Game Lounge while also assisting customers, operating the sales counter, supporting events, and helping maintain a welcoming store environment. This is not a behind-the-scenes-only marketing position. The employee will regularly interact with customers, participate in store activities, cover live events, and perform the everyday responsibilities of a Player Experience Associate. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, understands gaming culture, and can turn store activities into engaging and authentic content. What You Will Do Create Social Media Content Produce photo, video, graphic, and written content for approved company platforms. Create short-form videos for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other approved channels. Photograph and record products, employees, events, gaming communities, and store activities. Edit video footage, photos, audio, graphics, and captions into publication-ready content. Write clear, engaging, and accurate social media copy.

Create promotional content for:

Product releases and pre-orders Tournaments and leagues Tabletop roleplaying games Miniature wargaming events Board game programs Memberships Classes and demonstrations Special events and promotions Develop recurring content such as product spotlights, staff picks, event recaps, community highlights, interviews, and behind-the-scenes features. Maintain consistent branding, tone, and visual presentation. Organize and maintain digital photo, video, graphic, and template libraries. Plan and Publish Content Maintain a weekly and monthly content calendar. Coordinate content priorities with store management and company leadership. Plan content around product releases, events, seasonal promotions, and company initiatives. Prepare content for review and revise it based on feedback. Publish approved content according to established schedules. Maintain a balanced mix of promotional, educational, entertaining, and community-focused posts. Identify timely content opportunities during normal store operations. Cover Live Events Photograph and record tournaments, RPG sessions, product releases, classes, and special events. Capture event setup, gameplay, player reactions, awards, interviews, and noteworthy moments. Produce timely previews, updates, highlights, and event recaps. Conduct brief interviews with willing employees, organizers, and community members. Record content without disrupting customers, gameplay, or store operations. Follow company procedures for customer permission and media releases. Respect customers who do not wish to be photographed or recorded. Support Online Community Engagement Monitor routine comments, questions, tags, and messages on assigned platforms. Respond to common questions using approved company information. Direct customer complaints, policy concerns, and sensitive matters to management. Maintain a friendly, energetic, and professional online presence. Encourage customers to attend events, visit the store, and participate in gaming communities. Help turn online interest into event registrations, memberships, store visits, and purchases. Deliver an Excellent Player Experience Welcome customers and create a friendly, upbeat, and inclusive atmosphere. Initiate conversations and offer assistance without being intrusive. Help customers identify games, products, events, and communities that match their interests. Help new and inexperienced players feel comfortable. Promote appropriate events, memberships, pre-orders, and special programs. Maintain positive energy during busy shifts and challenging interactions. Represent Nexus Game Lounge professionally both in person and online. Support Retail and Events Operate the cash register and point-of-sale system accurately. Assist customers with product selection and purchases. Restock, organize, price, and display merchandise. Process event registrations, reservations, pre-orders, and customer accounts. Host or assist with TTRPG, TCG, miniature wargaming, board game, and learn-to-play events. Help prepare, run, clean, and reset event spaces. Perform routine cleaning, merchandising, opening, and closing responsibilities. Assist coworkers during high-traffic periods. Required Qualifications Previous experience creating social media, marketing, photo, video, or digital content. Experience recording and editing short-form videos. Familiarity with major social media platforms and current content formats. Ability to write clear, accurate, and engaging captions. Basic knowledge of photography, composition, lighting, audio, and video production. Experience using video-editing, photo-editing, graphic-design, or content-creation software. Previous retail, hospitality, entertainment, customer-service, or other public-facing experience. Experience operating a cash register, point-of-sale system, or similar transaction platform. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact comfortably with customers, employees, and community members. Ability to meet deadlines and follow content-approval procedures. Meaningful knowledge of at least one tabletop gaming category, such as: Tabletop roleplaying games Trading card games Miniature wargames Board games Dependable attendance and punctuality. Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and major event dates. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience managing or contributing to business social media accounts. Experience creating content for retail, entertainment, hospitality, or live events. Experience with graphic-design or advanced video-editing software. Experience appearing on camera or conducting interviews. Familiarity with livestreaming, podcasting, or long-form video production. Experience using social media scheduling or analytics platforms. Knowledge of multiple tabletop gaming categories. Experience as a Game Master, tournament organizer, judge, league coordinator, or event host. Familiarity with Discord and online gaming communities. Portfolio Requirement Applicants should provide examples of previous work.

Work Priorities Customer needs, store safety, and immediate operational responsibilities take priority over filming or editing unless management directs otherwise. All assigned content creation, editing, posting, and online engagement must be completed during recorded working time. Employees may not perform unpaid content work outside their scheduled hours. Performance will not be measured solely by follower counts or whether a post becomes viral. Physical and Work Requirements This position may require the employee to: Stand and walk for extended periods. Work at a computer or mobile device for editing and administrative tasks. Hold, carry, and operate cameras, microphones, lighting, tripods, and other equipment. Move around active retail and event spaces while recording content. Move tables, chairs, merchandise, displays, terrain, and event supplies. Frequently lift or carry items weighing up to 25 pounds. Occasionally lift or carry items weighing up to 40 pounds, with assistance when appropriate. Work in an environment that may include crowds, music, food odors, amplified sound, flashing displays, and elevated noise levels.
