Position Overview:

As the E-Commerce & Digital Operations Manager, you will be the bridge between our physical inventory and our online store. You will be responsible for building out our new e-commerce website, syncing it with our retail point-of-sale (POS) system, managing the day-to-day fulfillment of online orders, and linking products to our YouTube channel via YouTube Shopping. The ideal candidate has experience with e-commerce management, understands the unique logistics of handling live plants, and is excited to build an online brand from the ground up. Duties Build, Launch, Manage, Maintain, and Optimize the company's e-commerce website using content management systems like WordPress and Shopify, ensuring seamless user experience and functionality. Build and manage the digital product catalog, including high-quality photos, clear pricing, and accurate product variations (e.g., classifying by pot sizes, growth habits). Maintain strict inventory synchronization between our physical retail sales floor and the online store to eliminate double-selling. Implement website updates, promotions, layout improvements, and general troubleshooting. Develop and execute comprehensive digital marketing campaigns across paid advertising platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook Advertising, and SEM to increase traffic and sales. Connect the approved e-commerce inventory system directly into YouTube Studio. Coordinate with the production of our plant videos to tag products on screen at exact timestamps. Optimize product shelves, store tabs, and live-stream pinned products to maximize viewer conversion. Utilize SEO tools and techniques to improve organic search rankings through keyword research, on-page SEO, backlink strategies, and content optimization. Implement conversion rate optimization strategies by analyzing user behavior with web analytics tools like Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to identify opportunities for increased engagement. Design compelling visual content using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and

for web pages, banners, email templates, and social media posts. Conduct A/B testing on landing pages, ad creatives, and email campaigns to refine messaging and maximize ROI. Monitor campaign performance through detailed web analytics reporting; adjust tactics based on data insights to meet KPIs. Oversee social media marketing efforts including content creation, scheduling, community engagement, and paid social media advertising campaigns. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent brand messaging across all digital touchpoints while managing website updates and technical troubleshooting. Stay current with industry trends in digital marketing, paid advertising strategies, SEO best practices, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications Proven experience managing e-commerce platforms such as WordPress or similar Content Management Systems (CMS). Strong proficiency with SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs), Google Analytics, Google Ads (AdWords), Facebook Advertising Manager, and marketing automation platforms. Technical skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript; familiarity with website management tools like Google Tag Manager is essential. Demonstrated ability in content creation including graphic design with Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Creative Suite products. Experience in paid search marketing (SEM), paid advertising campaign setup/management, and social media advertising campaigns. Knowledge of web analytics reporting techniques for performance marketing insights. Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives effectively. Strong communication skills for collaborating with creative teams, vendors, and stakeholders. A passion for innovation in digital marketing strategies coupled with a results-oriented mindset.

Logistics & Live-Plant Fulfillment:

Design and implement tailored shipping and delivery rules across different product tiers. Manage regional door-to-door courier logistics via Roadie for large, oversized, or fragile plants. Manage localized parcel shipping (UPS Ground/USPS) for small, shippable plants, including establishing standard operating procedures for safe wrapping, stabilization, and temperature control. Monitor transit times throughout the Mid-Atlantic region to ensure live cargo arrives healthy.

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience managing an e-commerce platform (Shopify or Square Online preferred). Proven experience setting up tiered shipping rules, third-party logistics apps, or local delivery zones. Familiarity with YouTube Studio, content creator monetization features, or YouTube Shopping tools is highly preferred. Excellent organizational skills with a strong eye for detail and data accuracy. Basic horticulture or plant knowledge is a major plus (you should know the difference between a delicate houseplant and a hardy outdoor shrub). Must be dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable working hands-on in a dynamic garden center environment.
