URGENTLY HIRING
Engineering/Product Specialist Afinia Label is a division of Microboards Technology, an international Minnesota-based company that was founded in 1989 and got its start in the CD/DVD duplication industry. Afinia Label is an industry leader offering specialty printing equipment that includes a full range of on-demand digital label printers, label finishers/presses and accessories. Today, with a presence in over 55 countries worldwide, we are expanding and looking for talent to grow with us. We are looking for an experienced Engineering/Product Specialist to join our Engineering/R D team for our high speed digital printers, finishers, and presses product line. You will be responsible for testing/evaluating new product designs, recommending design changes/improvements, summarizing/reporting test statistics, developing support documents/videos, performing quality control testing, and communicating product quality issues with key suppliers. Duties and Responsibilities Evaluate, test, and document new product design concepts as member of product development team Conduct life cycle testing of new products, troubleshoot failures and identify design flaws, and recommend improvements to build robust products Effectively document all test data, summarize detailed reports on test findings/statistics, and work closely with manufacturer to resolve issues Write and review documentation for user manuals, quick start guides, support documents, service manuals, and technical bulletins for new and existing products Create, film, and edit product operation/technical support videos for new and existing products Coordinate with Marketing team on new products, supplying technical information as needed, and for maintaining most current product support documentation/videos on website Provide new product "out of box" experience/quality assurance review Perform quality control and life-cycle testing/documentation for new product development Liaison for product quality communication and continuous improvement with key suppliers, to include keeping detailed files on product updates and timely communication of updates to Management Qualifications and Skills 8 - 10 years combined education & experience in Engineering Support/Product Development Testing Demonstrated mechanical/electrical aptitude to evaluate product design, prototypes Technically adept with computer hardware/software systems; proficiency with MS Office Suite Ability to systematically trouble-shoot complex hardware/software situations and recommend solutions Clear/concise writing skills for documenting test data, product procedures, and user manuals Strong interpersonal communication skills to interface and communicate effectively with senior management, internal department heads, and key external customers/suppliers Ability to work calmly in high stress situations and manage multiple projects in a timely manner Proactive team player with a "roll-up the sleeves" attitude and strong work ethic to meet tight deadlines Occasional travel to support product development as necessary Benefits Afinia Label offers a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental, and HSA plans, as well as 100% company-paid employee Life Insurance, Long-Term Disability, 14 days of PTO to start, 8 paid Holidays, and 401(k) plan with 3% company-paid contribution.
