Full-Time, 12-month Position The Grosse Pointe Academy (GPA) is a historic independent day school in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. GPA serves children ages 2 1/2 through Grade 8, according to a philosophy built upon the pillars of academics, leadership, character, diversity and community. Role Overview The Marketing & Advancement Associate plays a central role in bringing The Grosse Pointe Academy's story, brand, and community experience to life through marketing execution, storytelling, and event support. This role helps ensure that how GPA is experienced—through communications, digital platforms, and community events—reflects the school's identity, values, and strategic direction. Working under the leadership of the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Associate supports the execution of integrated marketing and engagement initiatives that strengthen enrollment, retention, philanthropic engagement, and community connection. This role blends creativity with organization, supporting both marketing communications and the delivery of community-facing experiences that feel authentic, welcoming, and aligned with GPA's brand. Core Responsibilities Marketing & Communications Execution Support the execution of GPA's annual marketing and communications plan in alignment with enrollment, advancement, and institutional prioritiesDesign and produce digital and print materials, including newsletters, event campaigns, and storytelling content that highlight the life and spirit of GPA Create branded assets and visuals using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva consistent with GPA's brand standards Execute social media and digital marketing initiatives, including content creation, scheduling, and monitoring engagement across platforms in alignment with marketing strategy Support digital marketing efforts including email campaigns, website updates, and online storytelling initiatives that support enrollment and advancement goals Maintain and update website content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with institutional messaging Support campaign tracking and engagement monitoring using CRM and analytics insights to improve effectiveness Collaborate across Enrollment and Development teams to ensure consistency in messaging and presentation across audiences Content Creation, Social Media & Digital Storytelling Capture day-to-day moments that communicate the student experience and community life of GPA Develop authentic content for social media, digital platforms, and marketing campaigns Manage day-to-day social media execution, ensuring consistent posting, engagement, and alignment with GPA's brand voice Monitor social media and digital engagement metrics and share insights with the Director of Marketing & Communications to inform future content strategy Support photography, video, and written storytelling initiatives across marketing channels Maintain organized content libraries for ongoing marketing and communications use Community Events & Experience Execution Support planning, promotion, and execution of enrollment, advancement, and community events in partnership with Marketing, Enrollment, and Development teams Work in close partnership with the Admissions & Development Associates to ensure school events and community experiences are coordinated effectively and reflect both engagement goals and GPA's brand and experience standards Manage event logistics including communications, materials preparation, vendor coordination, setup, and on-site execution Ensure events reflect GPA's brand standards and deliver a welcoming, cohesive experience for all attendees Serve as a visible and hospitable representative of GPA during events, helping create positive and memorable experiences for guests and community members Capture stories, images, and moments from events to support ongoing storytelling and community engagement Assist with post-event follow-up, reporting, and documentation to strengthen future planning and engagement Marketing Operations Support Assist in maintaining the organization of marketing assets and communication workflows Support campaign implementation and timelines across enrollment and advancement initiatives Coordinate logistics and materials needed for marketing initiatives and outreach activities Provide executional support that allows strategic marketing initiatives to move forward efficiently Ideal Candidate Profile Sees marketing as community-building and experience creation, not simply promotion Is both creative and highly organized, able to move projects from idea to execution Enjoys working behind the scenes while also engaging directly with community members Is collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working across multiple teams Brings energy, initiative, and follow-through to a fast-paced, mission-driven environment Minimum requirements Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Education, Hospitality or similar discipline At least three years of practical experience in marketing, events planning, social media Canva experience is preferred, but not required Some photography experience would be beneficial At least one year of experience in daily usage of a CRM software Experience with both Google and Microsoft suite of products. Proficiency in both is not required, however, candidates must be proficient in at least one of the platforms.
