Imagine spending your workday in the pet space and out in the community—meeting local pet businesses, connecting with rescues and adoption groups, showing up at dog walks and community events, building creative partnerships, and helping more pet owners discover veterinary care designed around them and their pets. This isn't a sit-behind-a-desk marketing job. It's a get-out-there, meet-people, build-relationships-and-make-things-happen role. You'll spend your time connecting with rescues, shelters, dog boarding organizations, groomers, trainers, pet retailers, apartment communities, local businesses and organizations—finding creative ways to bring our hospitals into the places where pets and their people already live, work and play. What You'll Do You'll become a highly visible representative of our veterinary hospitals within their local New Jersey communities. Duties Build relationships with groomers, trainers, boarding and daycare facilities, pet retailers, shelters, rescues and other pet-focused organizations. Develop partnerships with apartment and condominium communities, realtors, employers, schools, municipalities, senior living communities and other local organizations. Create referral and cross-promotional programs that generate measurable new-client growth. Identify new neighborhoods, residential developments, businesses and community opportunities within each hospital's trade area. Evaluate and participate in high-value community events, including festivals, farmers markets, adoption events, dog walks and local business events. Develop relationships with Chambers of Commerce and other community organizations. Support community development and pre-opening marketing for future EVS hospitals. Work closely with hospital leadership to ensure marketing efforts align with appointment availability and hospital needs. Track partnerships, referrals, leads and new-client acquisition to understand what is actually driving growth. This role is about building relationships—not simply dropping off brochures. Experience Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and follow-up skills. Ability to work independently and manage a field-based schedule. Comfort using CRM, spreadsheet, tracking and basic marketing tools. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for community events. Experience in any of the following is a plus: Field or grassroots marketing, business development, community relations, hospitality, veterinary medicine, healthcare, retail, multi-location consumer services, B2B partnerships or new-location openings.

Pay:

$18.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
