The Performance Marketing team within Worldwide Product Marketing is seeking a Test Operations Engineer responsible for hands-on test lab operations, in support of customer-facing marketing claims about product performance and battery life. Description The Performance Marketing team helps shape the performance story of new products in collaboration with product managers, engineers, and more experts at Apple. The Test Operations Engineer supports new product introductions with reliable testing that informs compelling, customer-facing marketing messaging. You will provide dedicated operational support across a wide variety of product categories including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, AirPods, accessories, and more. This role focuses on timely execution primarily at the device level, supporting test programs from setup through data delivery. This is an on-site role based in our Cupertino test labs. Responsibilities Set up, configure, and tear down test devices and equipment; manage hardware archival and rack organization. Execute tests methodically and consistently to produce high-quality, repeatable results; collect and organize data for analysis. Troubleshoot and resolve issues to maintain testing schedules across multiple concurrent projects. Document test settings, procedures, and results with accuracy and thoroughness. Manage device inventory, including organization, tracking, and maintenance. Coordinate cellular service activation and carrier provisioning; diagnose device and connectivity issues. Support multiple simultaneous workstreams, managing expectations about deliverables and timelines with project leads. Communicate status clearly and proactively across team members and stakeholders. Identify and implement improvements to lab workflows, test processes, and documentation practices. Explore new products, technologies, and tools to support efficient lab operations. Accomplish goals and objectives on time to support the team's product delivery schedule. Minimum Qualifications 2+ years of experience in QA, test operations, lab operations, or a related hands-on testing environment. Experience setting up and operating test equipment, configuring devices, and collecting test data. Demonstrated attention to detail and accountability for quality and consistency of results. Strong technical documentation and process recording skills; able to maintain clear, repeatable procedures. Effective time management and planning skills, with experience independently prioritizing tasks across multiple stakeholders. Strong proficiency using productivity tools such as Microsoft Excel and Numbers. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of experience in QA, test operations, lab operations, or a related field. Experience delivering value-added analysis from test data in a results-oriented environment. Experience using and troubleshooting consumer electronics, software, and services, especially across multiple platforms. Programming or scripting experience; familiarity with command line tools, Python, and cellular technology. Experience working independently with minimal direction in a fast-paced environment, coordinating across teams and prioritizing competing demands under tight deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to different audiences. Bachelor's degree or higher in a science or technical field of study. Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $144,600 and $218,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
