This role is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic carrier relationships, maximizing market access opportunities, supporting agency growth initiatives, monitoring carrier performance, and ensuring effective communication between carriers and agency stakeholders. The Carrier Liaison works closely with agency leadership, sales teams, operations, licensing, compliance, and carrier representatives to strengthen partnerships, improve market availability, identify growth opportunities, and support agency production objectives.---Essential Duties & Responsibilities Carrier Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary agency contact for assigned insurance carriers, MGAs, wholesalers, program administrators, and preferred partners. Build, maintain, and strengthen strategic relationships with carrier representatives, underwriters, territory managers, distribution leaders, and executive contacts.
- Coordinate and facilitate regular carrier business reviews, planning meetings, and partnership discussions.
- Act as a liaison between agency leadership and carrier partners regarding strategic initiatives, production goals, and partnership opportunities.
- Represent the agency in carrier meetings, conferences, trade shows, webinars, and industry events Carrier Appointments & Market Access
- Manage carrier appointment requests, onboarding requirements, agency code acquisition, contracting processes, and carrier implementation activities.
- Maintain agency appointment records, carrier contracts, production requirements, and market-access documentation.
- Monitor carrier appointment standards, production commitments, and agency eligibility requirements.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate market placement options for agency producers.
- Ensure agents have access to available carrier markets, resources, and underwriting contacts .Carrier Communications & Resources
- Review, analyze, and communicate carrier updates regarding underwriting guidelines, appetite changes, product enhancements, incentive programs, commission changes, and operational updates.
- Develop and distribute carrier communications, announcements, educational materials, and market updates to agency personnel.
- Maintain carrier directories, underwriting contacts, appetite guides, product information, and partner resource libraries.
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert regarding carrier relationships and market-access opportunities. Production & Performance Analysis
- Request, compile, and analyze carrier production reports, quote activity reports, profitability data, and performance metrics.
- Track carrier growth, production trends, retention performance, and partnership effectiveness.
- Assist leadership with carrier scorecards, business reviews, production analysis, and strategic planning.
- Monitor agency production against carrier requirements and incentive opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to increase submissions, growth, cross-selling, and carrier engagement. Business Development & Strategic Partnerships
- Identify new carrier relationships, product opportunities, program access, and partnership expansion opportunities.
- Assist leadership in evaluating prospective carrier relationships and market opportunities.
- Support strategic initiatives that drive agency growth and strengthen carrier partnerships.
- Collaborate with carrier representatives to develop training, marketing, and growth initiatives for agency producers. Webinar & Training Coordination
- Coordinate carrier and preferred partner educational webinars and training events.
- Schedule presenters and facilitate communication between carriers and agency staff.
- Promote educational opportunities that enhance producer knowledge and carrier engagement.
- Track participation and maintain records of carrier training initiatives. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales, Operations, Licensing, Compliance, Accounting, and Agency Leadership on carrier-related initiatives.
- Facilitate resolution of underwriting, appointment, access, and service-related escalations.
- Support internal departments with carrier resources, contacts, and operational guidance.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements that enhance carrier relationships and agency efficiency.--- Qualifications Required
- Minimum 3-5 years of insurance industry experience.
- Working knowledge of carrier appointments, agency-carrier relationships, underwriting structures, and distribution channels.
- Exceptional relationship management and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to analyze production reports and carrier performance data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite .Preferred
- Experience working for an independent insurance agency, MGA, carrier, or wholesale brokerage.
- Knowledge of property & casualty insurance markets.
- Experience managing carrier partnerships and agency appointments.
- Understanding of carrier production requirements and performance metrics.
