Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and innovative 988 Marketing Specialist to lead our multichannel marketing initiatives and drive impactful demand generation campaigns. In this role, you will develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that elevate brand awareness, increase engagement, and generate measurable results across digital and traditional platforms. The 988 Marketing Specialist is responsible for promoting awareness and appropriate use of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline through strategic communications, outreach, and public education. This role ensures all messaging aligns with Vibrant Emotional Health and Center standards, including safe, non-stigmatizing, and culturally responsive communication about mental health and crisis services. While this role is primarily hybrid, employee is expected to perform field-based work as needed to support program operations, including in-person meetings, trainings, community outreach, and coordination with external partners. Duties Marketing & Public Awareness
  • Develop and implement campaigns to promote 988 services
  • Increase community awareness of when and how to use 988
  • Ensure messaging clearly differentiates 988 vs. 911
  • Support public education around mental health and crisis resources Community Outreach
  • Build partnerships with community organizations, schools, and providers
  • Conduct presentations, trainings, and outreach events
  • Represent the organization in community meetings and forums
  • Expand outreach to underserved and high-need populations Content Creation & Communications Develop marketing materials (flyers, brochures, toolkits, presentations) Create and manage social media and digital content Ensure all content is: o Trauma-informed o Person-centered o Non-judgmental and stigma-reducing Maintain consistency with 988 branding and messaging standards Safe Messaging & Compliance Ensure all communications follow Vibrant safe messaging guidelines Avoid language that is sensationalizing, triggering, or stigmatizing Promote help-seeking behavior in a safe and supportive way Collaborate with clinical or QA staff to ensure accuracy of crisis-related content Digital Engagement Manage social media platforms and online presence Monitor engagement and respond appropriately to public inquiries Follow internal protocols if individuals express crisis needs online Maintain professional and supportive tone in all interactions Data Tracking & Reporting Track outreach activities and campaign performance Analyze engagement data and adjust strategies as needed Prepare reports on outreach impact and community reach Support program reporting requirements Cultural Responsiveness & Equity Ensure outreach strategies are inclusive and accessible Develop materials for diverse populations (language, literacy, accessibility) Engage with culturally specific organizations and communities Promote equitable access to 988 services Collaboration Work with program leadership, counselors, and external partners Coordinate messaging during high-demand or crisis events Support internal communications related to 988 services Join us as a 988 Marketing Specialist where your innovative ideas will shape impactful campaigns!
