Position Overview A leading Apparel/Uniforms Manufacturer is looking for a Product Developer & Merchandiser who will work directly with the Senior Product Development Manager in the Miami office and must have product development, technical design, and design experience in the apparel industry.
Responsibilities:
Product Development & Technical Design Measure samples to ensure specifications are met; identify and suggest adjustments to specs as needed. Know how to grade specifications across a size range. Lead and/or participate in fit sessions with Design, Merchandising, and Product development teams. Manage fabric color approval process. Support fabric sourcing efforts, identifying and vetting suitable materials. Responsible for costing sheets, initial builds and ongoing updates. Maintain fit samples, PP samples, and TOP samples library. Ensure on-time delivery and quality of prototypes, fit garments, and sales samples. Ensure development tracking reports are updated and made available for weekly meetings to confirm calendar dates. PLM Role — assign development numbers, opens new tech packs, and sends custom and core concept tech packs to the factories. Participate in weekly Development Meetings. Merchandising Support the Sales team by recommending products, fabrics, or sources from the existing line when building out a program. Support Design and Sales by translating client requirements into actionable development direction and keeping both sides aligned throughout the process.
Requirements:
College degree in Apparel/Textile Design/Development or in a related field of study. 4-6 years of experience in product development, technical design, and/or apparel sourcing. Team player and interpersonal skills a must. Strong knowledge of costing, fitting, grading, construction, and technologies relevant to apparel. Strong understanding of design, development, and merchandising process from inception through production. Ability to build collaborative cross-functional relationships. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, PLM systems, and Adobe Suite. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus. Compensation Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
