Salem:

Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in communications, media, marketing or a related field is a plus One to two years of hands-on experience creating content for social media, ideally including photo and video work A working portfolio or reel that shows your eye, not just your résumé Comfortable shooting and editing on the fly, in the room, during a live event Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop or Lightroom Comfortable using common AI platforms (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) to help brainstorm, draft and speed up everyday content work Familiarity with scheduling and analytics tools (Planoly, Later, Meta Business Suite or similar) A friendly, outgoing personality and genuine comfort approaching people for photos, video and quick interviews Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle several moving projects at once Primary Duties Plan, shoot, edit and post content across Salem's social platforms for the church, Salem Lutheran School (SLS) and Salem Lutheran Preschool (SLP) Cover worship, school life, events and the Salem NEXT building campaign with photo and video, on the spot and in real time Manage the content calendar and keep a steady, consistent posting rhythm across platforms Monitor comments and messages, responding with warmth and looping in staff when something needs a personal touch Track analytics and use what's working to shape what comes next Collaborate with the Communications team, pastoral staff and school leadership to tell stories that are true to Salem Bring your own creative ideas to the table. This role has real room to shape Salem's voice online Qualifications and/or Skills An eye for a good shot and an ear for a good story Mac computer skills Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and be on your feet during events Self-motivated, dependable and able to work with limited supervision As a ministry of the church, this role calls for a genuine, active Christian faith and a willingness to talk openly about it as part of the job Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $48,000 to $53,000 per year, based on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package including medical, prescription, dental, vision and retirement, plus many others. Schedule Full-time, on campus. Sunday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Additional hours may be required around major events and seasons like Christmas and Easter.
