This is a hands-on internship designed for someone who wants real-world experience in social media, content creation, event marketing, community building, and the book industry. Approximately 70% of this role will focus on social media and content creation, with the remaining 30% focused on events, community engagement, and other marketing projects. You do not need years of professional social media experience to apply. We care much more about finding someone who genuinely understands social media, loves books, has a creative eye, and is excited to learn.

you need to actually like books and reading! Our community is heavily centered around books, authors, bookish events, and readers, so understanding that world is a huge part of this position. What You'll Be Doing You'll help with: Creating content for TikTok, Instagram, Threads, and YouTube Editing Reels, TikToks, and other short-form video content Assisting with longer-form YouTube video editing Brainstorming content ideas, trends, hooks, and campaigns Capturing behind-the-scenes content in our office and at events Creating book-related content, including potential book reviews and recommendations Engaging with our community through comments and DMs Helping manage and grow our social media communities Assisting with TikTok Shop content and strategy Potentially participating in TikTok LIVE selling Assisting with influencer/creator outreach and coordination Helping promote upcoming events Attending select events to capture content and assist with event needs Supporting additional marketing and event projects as needed Who We're Looking For You might be a great fit if you: Genuinely love books and reading Understand TikTok and Instagram culture and current trends Are comfortable with Instagram, TikTok, Threads, and YouTube Have basic video editing experience using CapCut or a similar platform Have a creative eye and can recognize what makes content engaging Are comfortable appearing on camera occasionally or are willing to learn Are organized, dependable, and able to work independently Enjoy brainstorming and bringing new ideas to the table Are excited about events, community building, and creating experiences Are willing to learn and receive feedback Experience with TikTok Shop, TikTok LIVE, influencer marketing, creator outreach, YouTube editing, or social media management is a huge plus, but not required. Schedule + Location This is an in-person internship based out of our North Salt Lake office. We anticipate approximately 10-15 hours per week, typically spread across 2-3 days. We can offer some flexibility with scheduling, but applicants should have consistent weekday availability to work in-office. There will also be opportunities to attend select events, which may occasionally take place during evenings or weekends. After successfully completing the three-month internship, there may be an opportunity to transition into a longer-term position with increased responsibilities and compensation. Equipment Applicants should have access to their own smartphone and laptop that they can use for content creation, editing, communication, and other day-to-day responsibilities. An iPad and additional resources will also be available for use while working in the office.
