Acting Coach - TV, Film, Commercial & Voiceover Limelight Acting Studio | Valencia, CA Limelight Acting Studio is seeking an exceptional Acting Coach to join our team at our Valencia location. We are looking for that special person who brings an equally strong combination of professional acting experience, coaching expertise, leadership, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for mentoring actors. This is not simply a teaching position. We are looking for a working industry professional who can become a trusted coach and mentor to our students while bringing current, real-world knowledge of today's television, film, commercial, audition, and self-tape landscape into the studio. We strongly prefer candidates who live in the Santa Clarita Valley or within close proximity to our Valencia studio. Because professional auditions can come in with very little notice, local availability is extremely valuable in helping us accommodate students who need last-minute self-tape preparation, audition coaching, or private sessions. Who We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a currently working or recently working professional actor with verifiable IMDb credits and firsthand experience in the TV, film, and/or commercial industry. Candidates should have a strong understanding of how the industry operates today , including current audition expectations, self-tape techniques, casting trends, and what casting directors are looking for from actors in 2026. Professional theater or stage experience can certainly be valuable, but this position is specifically focused on TV, film, commercial, and on-camera acting. Candidates whose professional experience is exclusively in theater or stage acting will not be the right fit for this role. Equally important is your experience as a coach and educator . We are seeking someone who is confident leading group classes as well as working one-on-one with students in private coaching sessions. You should be comfortable challenging actors, providing thoughtful and actionable adjustments, building confidence, identifying individual strengths and weaknesses, and helping students grow both creatively and professionally. Responsibilities As a Limelight Acting Studio coach, you may work with kids, teens, and adults through both group classes and private one-on-one coaching.

Responsibilities may include:

Teaching on-camera acting and audition technique Coaching self-tape auditions using current industry standards and practices Accommodating occasional short-notice audition and self-tape coaching when availability allows Scene study and script analysis Cold reading techniques Improvisation Character development and performance preparation Helping actors make strong, specific, and authentic choices on camera Preparing students for callbacks, auditions, and professional opportunities Providing guidance on the business side of the acting industry Mentoring students at varying levels of experience, from beginners to working actors Leading engaging, high-energy group classes Providing individualized private coaching Supporting students with career development and industry readiness Limelight Acting Academy The selected coach must also be comfortable teaching and supporting students through our Limelight Acting Academy curriculum , our comprehensive professional development program for actors.

Academy coaching includes:

Improv Cold reading Scene study On-camera acting Self-tape and audition technique Script and character analysis Headshot preparation and guidance The business of acting Industry professionalism and career preparation Preparing students for their professional on-set filming experience Helping actors integrate everything they have learned into confident, industry-ready performances Our Academy is designed to provide students with more than acting exercises. The goal is to help develop knowledgeable, prepared, confident actors who understand both the craft and the business of working professionally. Voiceover Experience Is Highly Desired We have significant student interest in voiceover training, so experience in professional voice acting and voiceover coaching is a major plus. An ideal candidate would be comfortable coaching areas such as: Commercial voiceover Animation and character work Voiceover audition technique Script interpretation Mic technique Performance choices for voiceover Voiceover self-recording and audition preparation Required Qualifications Professional TV, film, and/or commercial acting experience Verifiable IMDb credits Currently working or recently active within the professional acting industry Previous acting coaching or teaching experience Strong knowledge of current self-tape and audition techniques Understanding of current casting expectations and industry practices Comfortable teaching both group classes and private one-on-one lessons Comfortable coaching children, teens, and adults Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to give clear, constructive, actionable performance adjustments Professional, dependable, organized, and punctual Positive attitude with high energy and enthusiasm Genuine interest in mentoring and developing actors Preferred Qualifications Lives in the Santa Clarita Valley or within close proximity to our Valencia studio Flexibility to occasionally accommodate short-notice self-tape or audition coaching Professional voiceover credits and/or voiceover coaching experience Experience coaching working actors Experience preparing actors for professional auditions and callbacks Experience with on-camera filming and production environments Knowledge of the business side of acting, including representation, casting platforms, headshots, reels, self-tapes, and professional industry etiquette The Person We Want at Limelight We are looking for much more than someone who can teach acting exercises.
