Job Description

Actor Rehearsal & Performance Assistant - Stamford, CT Hiring immediately. We are looking for a reliable and professional Actor Rehearsal & Performance Assistant to work in person with an actor preparing for multiple short-film projects. A major part of this position is listening closely to the actor's speech and helping maintain natural and consistent General American speech.
The ideal applicant should understand:
General American vowel and consonant sounds Aspiration and non-aspiration rules for /p/, /t/, and /k/ Word and sentence stress Rhythm and intonation Linking and connected speech Natural pacing and pronunciation The applicant should also understand acting and scene work, including: Character objectives Actions Beats and changes within a scene Intentions and circumstances Whether a performance feels clear, natural, and believable Responsibilities may include: Reading scenes and lines with the actor Following the script during rehearsals Pointing out pronunciation and speech inconsistencies Helping maintain consistent General American speech Discussing objectives, actions, beats, and scene choices when needed Watching rehearsals and giving clear and respectful performance feedback Recording rehearsals using a smartphone or provided camera Watching recorded takes with the actor and helping identify what could be improved Handling different rehearsal-related tasks as needed Training at an acting school or conservatory is a strong plus, especially for applicants who have studied voice and speech, scene work, or performance. Professional camera experience is not required. Basic comfort using a smartphone or provided camera is sufficient.
LOCATION
Stamford, Connecticut. This is an in-person position in a professional corporate office building.
SCHEDULE
Approximately 24 hours per week. Generally 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, four days per week. The four scheduled days may include weekdays, weekends, or a combination of both. The exact days may change from week to week and will be communicated in advance. Applicants must be able to commit for at least three months. Each six-hour workday includes two paid 10-minute breaks. PAY $20 per hour. $120 for each scheduled six-hour day. Approximately $2,000 per month with a regular four-day-per-week schedule. Actual monthly earnings may vary depending on the number of scheduled workdays. Hiring immediately.
