Job Description

The Dance Team Instructor is responsible for teaching and developing students' dance skills while fostering confidence, discipline, teamwork, and creativity. The instructor plans and leads engaging classes, choreographs routines for performances and competitions, and creates a positive, inclusive learning environment for dancers of all skill levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach dance techniques to students of various ages and experience levels. Plan and lead structured, engaging, and age-appropriate dance classes. Choreograph routines for performances, recitals, competitions, and community events. Build dancers' technical skills, coordination, flexibility, strength, and stage presence. Promote teamwork, discipline, respect, and sportsmanship among team members. Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback and encouragement. Ensure a safe environment by following proper warm-up, stretching, and injury prevention practices. Attend rehearsals, performances, competitions, and special events as required. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and program staff. Maintain attendance records and assist with performance preparation.
Qualifications:
Experience in dance instruction or coaching preferred. Ability to choreograph routines for different skill levels. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Passion for mentoring and inspiring dancers. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for classes, rehearsals, and performances.
