Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Dance Instructor and Choreographer to inspire and cultivate a love for dance and the performing arts among students of all ages. In this energetic role, you follow set curriculum, lead dance classes, and create innovative choreography that encourages creativity, discipline, and confidence. Your expertise will help foster a vibrant learning environment where students can explore their artistic talents, develop technical skills, and express themselves through movement. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in arts education while honing your teaching craft. Responsibilities Teach classes tailored to various age groups and skill levels, incorporating elements of ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, and other dance styles. Lead engaging dance classes that promote technical proficiency, artistic expression, and physical fitness. Create original choreography for performances, recitals, and community events that showcase students' talents and progress. Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a safe, respectful, and motivating environment for all students. Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs, including children with special education requirements or early childhood development needs. Collaborate with other arts educators to integrate dance with theater, music, photography, sewing or culinary arts projects when appropriate. Support students' personal growth by providing constructive feedback and fostering confidence in their abilities. Experience Proven experience teaching dance or performing arts to children and youth programs with a strong background in choreography and dance instruction. Demonstrated ability to develop lesson plans that align with curriculum standards while encouraging creativity and self-expression. Experience working with diverse student populations, including early childhood education or preschool settings. Knowledge of classroom management techniques suitable for young learners and special education environments. Skills in choreography across multiple dance styles such as ballet, jazz, contemporary or hip-hop are highly desirable. Familiarity with theater performance techniques and musical instruments can enhance your teaching versatility. Prior experience in arts tutoring or adult education is a plus for expanding program offerings. Join us to ignite passion for the arts!
