In this exciting role, you will lead engaging hip-hop dance classes for a diverse range of age groups, fostering creativity, confidence, and a love for movement. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help students develop their dance skills while enjoying a fun, supportive environment. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on young dancers and contribute to a vibrant youth program. If you have Jazz Dance experience, that's a plus!

Hours:

Mondays 4:45pm - 8:30pm Responsibilities Design and deliver engaging hip-hop dance lessons tailored to various skill levels and age groups Develop creative choreography that aligns with class themes and student abilities Manage classroom behavior to create a safe, inclusive, and energetic learning environment Incorporate elements of musicality, rhythm, and performance techniques into instruction Collaborate with other arts educators to integrate dance with visual arts and performance. Track student progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage growth Prepare lesson plans that emphasize creativity, technique, and fun while meeting program objectives Requirements Proven experience teaching dance, particularly hip-hop or urban styles, with a focus on choreography and movement instruction Strong background in curriculum development for dance or performing arts programs Experience working with children or youth in educational or extracurricular settings Knowledge of classroom management strategies to maintain discipline and engagement Skills in choreography, dance instruction, and performance techniques are essential Background in early childhood education, special education, or youth development is highly valued Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds Available for a full season, September - June.
