Musical Theatre Teaching Artist/Director- Children's Program YWPianos/Mission Youth Art Academy Fremont, CA Job Details Part-time | Contract | Internship $40 - $70 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Professional development assistance Flexible schedule Referral program Qualifications Teamwork Program development Piano Working with students Leadership Full Job Description About the Role YWPIANOS/Mission Youth Arts Academy (MYAA) is looking for an energetic, creative, and inspiring Musical Theatre Teaching Artist / Director to join our growing children's performing arts program in Fremont. We are building a program where children develop strong foundations in singing, acting, movement, confidence, and stage performance —while discovering the joy of musical theatre. This is more than a traditional teaching position. We are looking for someone who would enjoy helping us build and shape a growing youth musical theatre program . What You'll Do Teach musical theatre classes for children Coach students in singing, acting, character development, and stage presence Lead theatre games, improvisation, and performance exercises Stage and rehearse musical theatre numbers Prepare students for showcases and performances Create a positive, encouraging, and engaging classroom environment Collaborate with the MYAA team on repertoire, curriculum, and future productions Who We're Looking For We would love to meet someone who: Has experience in musical theatre, theatre, vocal performance, or performing arts Enjoys working with children and knows how to keep a class engaging Has strong communication and leadership skills Is enthusiastic, warm, creative, and reliable Can confidently lead rehearsals and performances Is interested in growing with a developing youth arts program Experience as a Musical Director, Teaching Artist, Theatre Director, Vocal Coach, Choreographer, or Performing Arts Instructor is especially welcome. Piano skills are a plus, but not required. About MYAA Mission Youth Arts Academy is a growing performing arts program focused on helping young students develop musicianship, creativity, confidence, teamwork, and stage experience. Our goal is not simply to teach children how to perform—we want to create a place where young performers feel encouraged to explore, express themselves, and grow. As MYAA expands, there may be opportunities for the right person to take on a larger artistic and program leadership role .
