Job Description

Part-Time Organist Compensation:

$16,000 - 18,000 dependent upon experience Responsibilities Provide organ music for Sunday morning worship, including prelude, offertory, communion music (when scheduled), and postlude. Accompany congregational hymns with confidence and sensitivity to worship. Accompany the church choir during weekly rehearsals and Sunday worship while the choir is in season. Participate in special worship services throughout the year, including Ash Wednesday, Holy Week, Easter, Christmas Eve, and other significant occasions. Arrange for a qualified substitute when unavailable Qualifications Proficiency in organ performance. Experience accompanying congregational singing and choirs preferred. Strong sight-reading skills. Reliability, professionalism, and good communication skills. An appreciation for the mission and ministry of the church. Membership at Newtown United Methodist Church is not required.
