Merritt Island Presbyterian Church's theater program, One Purpose Productions, is hiring for a Music Director for our fall semester and future productions! We are a faith-based theater program serving (a majority of homeschooled) middle and high school students. Each year, we produce two original shows and are excited to be launching a summer improv camp as well. Requirements… Be able to accompany live performances and/or teach canned music to students. Know sheet music and how to print it for student readability, or transpose accordingly. Work alongside the Director in curating songs that match the script. (Check licensing/performance requirements, ensure the lyrics aid in the scripts message) Teach students their music, hold auditions for solos and singing pairings.•This is a low stress, supplemental income, in-person position. We meet on location, during the spring and fall seasons on Wednesdays from 3pm to 6pm. With additional meetings for tech/dress week and our shows.•This position is part of the Faith Formation Ministry of Merritt Island Presbyterian Church. Applicants should be supportive of the church's mission and statement of faith. Candidates from all Christian denominations are welcome to apply. A history of educational work/volunteering, or work with a youth group or students is preferred. All staff members must successfully complete a background check before hiring.
