Job Description
Youth Inspirations Theatre (YIT) is seeking an energetic, collaborative, and student-centered Director/Music Director to lead two youth musical theatre productions during our 2026-2027 season. This position is ideal for an experienced theatre educator, music educator, or performing arts professional who enjoys working with young performers and is comfortable leading both the artistic and musical aspects of a production. Productions Madagascar Jr. (Fall 2026) Willy Wonka Kids (Spring 2027) Responsibilities Lead auditions and casting alongside YIT leadership Direct rehearsals and develop age-appropriate performances Teach and rehearse vocal music Prepare students for successful performances Collaborate with the choreographer and production team Attend production meetings, technical rehearsals, and performances Foster a positive, encouraging, and educational rehearsal environment Qualifications Experience directing youth theatre productions Strong vocal music teaching skills Ability to work with performers ages 6-12 Strong communication and organizational skills Passion for arts education and student growth Preferred Qualifications Music Education, Theatre, Vocal Performance, or related degree Previous experience directing licensed musical theatre productions Experience working with elementary and middle school students Compensation Competitive stipend based on experience and qualifications.
