Introduction . All Olivet members, staff, and volunteers are engaged in the church and its mission- all are ministers of the church. To effectively serve the church and its community, it is essential that all staff members approach their duties and responsibilities with an attitude of support for one another, recognizing that workflow varies throughout the year and often requires special teamwork with boards and committees to accomplish some tasks. All must work in harmony with one another, with volunteers, members of the congregation, officers, committees, and other small groups. The Music/Worship Ministry Leader's primary purpose is to design, coordinate, and lead meaningful corporate worship experiences that align with the theological vision of the church and spiritually engage the congregation. He/she shares hospitality with all visitors to the church and is responsible for positively connecting with them. He/she is an ambassador for the church and interacts with a wide variety of discretion, tact, and confidentiality in all matters.

Responsibilities:

Worship Leadership & Planning:

Collaborate with the Senior Pastor to curate music and elements that complement weekly sermon themes and seasonal church events. Lead congregational singing and direct the worship team, choir, or band during services. Plan and direct music for special services (e.g. Christmas, Easter, weddings, funerals and VBS)

Team Development & Recruitment:

Recruit and train volunteer vocalists and instrumentalists of all ages. Coordinate with the A/V Team in recruiting and training volunteers. Facilitate regular rehearsals, fostering musical excellence and spiritual unity among the team. Identify and mentor emerging leaders within the music ministry.

Administrative & Technical Oversight:

Manage the annual music and worship ministry budgets. Oversee the maintenance of instruments, audio/visual gear, and the church's music library. Coordinate with the media and a/v teams to ensure seamless presentations of lyrics, tracks, and sound quality.

Spiritual Expectations:

Maintain a healthy personal spiritual life that models Christ-like character and servant leadership. Serve as an active, pastoral presence within the church community.
