This vital role combines musical excellence, spiritual leadership, and community engagement to create uplifting worship experiences that foster connection, faith, and joy. The director will oversee the development of music programs, coordinate worship services, and mentor volunteers and staff, all while embodying the mission and values of our faith-based organization. A passion for nurturing spiritual growth through music and a strong background in religious leadership are essential to thrive in this dynamic position. Duties Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of weekly worship services, special events, and seasonal celebrations with a focus on engaging diverse age groups including youth and children. Direct and develop a vibrant choir, band, or musical ensemble by recruiting talented musicians and singers; provide coaching to enhance their spiritual expression through music. Collaborate with pastoral staff to integrate music seamlessly into worship themes, sermons, and community outreach initiatives. Oversee the selection of appropriate musical repertoire that aligns with doctrinal teachings and enhances congregational participation. Manage volunteer recruitment, training, scheduling, and appreciation efforts for music ministry teams and worship volunteers. Foster a welcoming environment that encourages active participation from congregation members of all ages; incorporate youth ministry and religious education into music programs. Organize workshops or training sessions on musical skills, religious studies related to worship music, or leadership development for volunteers. Coordinate with event planners for special services such as weddings, funerals (bereavement support), baptisms, or community outreach events with an emphasis on inclusivity and spiritual depth. Qualifications Proven experience in religious organization leadership with a focus on music ministry or worship planning. Profiecency in piano and organ Demonstrated ability to teach religious concepts through music or other creative methods; experience in youth engagement within pastoral work is highly valued. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with clergy, staff, volunteers, and congregation members. Skilled in event planning, volunteer management, and community engagement within nonprofit faith-based organizations. Knowledge of social work principles related to hospice care or bereavement support is a plus for supporting grieving families during services. Experience working with children or youth programs; ability to mentor young musicians or worship leaders. Ability to lead with compassion while maintaining high standards of musical excellence; proficiency in leading diverse musical styles is desirable.
