Voice Instructor

Job Description

About the role We're looking for a skilled, personable voice teacher to teach in a growing music school hosted at a well-established faith-based venue in Sun City. You'll teach private voice and singing lessons to students of all ages — children through adults — in a dedicated teaching room with a piano/keyboard provided. Students will also have optional solo performance opportunities with an accompanist provided free of charge, as well as a pathway into a community choir — a great motivator and a chance for your teaching to shine. This is an independent contractor position with an established, professionally run private music studio, engaged by the Music Director. We handle student recruitment, scheduling, billing, and all admin — you focus entirely on teaching. The studio is run by a conservatoire-trained pianist/director with a reputation for high teaching standards and strong student outcomes, including national press coverage of student achievements. What you'll do Teach private voice lessons at one consistent location, tailor your teaching to each student's goals (from beginners to exam or performance preparation), communicate professionally with students and parents, and maintain a reliable weekly schedule during the agreed teaching window. What we're looking for Degree in voice, music, or music education — or equivalent professional training and experience Demonstrated experience teaching voice to a range of ages and levels Healthy, well-grounded vocal technique and the ability to accompany simple warm-ups at the keyboard (basic piano skills sufficient) Warm, patient, professional manner with students and families Reliability — students and families depend on a consistent schedule Experience with church music and faith-based events preferred Must pass a background check (fingerprint clearance card preferred or willingness to obtain) Why this role Students are brought to you — no need to find your own clients Consistent single location with equipment and waiting room provided Piano accompanist for select student performances Genuine growth potential as the studio expands Supportive, professional management by a fellow working musician who understands teaching How to apply Submit your resume along with a short cover note describing your teaching experience and approach. Links to any performance or teaching videos are welcome but not required. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview and teach a short demonstration lesson.
