The Associate Conductor of VOICES Boston will lead our youngest singing groups in our weekly rehearsals and concerts throughout the 2026-27 Season. Our First Notes and Melody Ensembles are made up of singers entering K-2nd grades and rehearse on Tuesdays between the 3-6pm time frame, and Wednesdays from 2:45-3:45. If the applicant is also a pianist, t may be an additional opportunity to apany our 6-8th grade choir from 5-6pm on Wednesdays. Through warmups, lessons, games, and songs, instructors are expected to teach by rote and with simplified sheet music and transition to primarily sheet music as their music literacy increases. Instructors should emphasize ear training, pitch matching, musical literacy, tone, and healthy vocal production. Instructor will tailor lessons according to the needs and specifications of the group.
Qualifications:
Skills may include:
Excellent interpersonal andmunication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population
High degree ofanization
Training in vocal pedagogy
Training in teaching notes and rhythms (Kodály, solfege, TAKADIMI, etc)
Training in teaching through movement (Dalcroze, Musikgarten, etc)
Required Qualifications:
Undergrad Degree in Music Education, K-12 certified preferred
Kodaly trained and Vocal Ped background
Basic Piano/Moderate Piano Skills
1-3 years teaching experience
Must be fully vaccinated and willing to teach in person
