After-School Athletic Support for Students

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to serve as a support for students participating in Unified sports after school.

The ideal candidate will provide encouragement, support, and a safe athletic environment for the student.

Qualifications:

Previous experience working with individuals with special needs, preferably in a sports or physical activity context, is highly desirable.

Good physical condition and the ability to participate in athletics alongside the student at a pace that is comfortable for them.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions and positive feedback.

Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a positive attitude in working with individuals with special needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Accompany the student during practices and games, supporting the student and providing encouragement and physical support as needed.

Monitor the student's physical condition and well-being during activities, ensuring they are safe and comfortable.

Offer positive reinforcement and motivation to help the student build confidence and enjoy the running experience.

Work closely with the student and coaches to understand individual needs and preferences and communicate effectively to address any concerns.

Be flexible and adaptable in response to the student's needs.

Collaborate with coaches and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to the student's training and participation.

Compensation:

$16.00/hour

Position Type:

Part-time, during the sports season

Working Conditions:

Must be available to run during scheduled practice times and games, which may include early mornings or late afternoons, and/or weekends.
