Job Description

Michigan Rock School is seeking a skilled musicians to teach private lessons and lead band classes for students ages 4-adult. We handle all marketing, scheduling, and student recruitment - you focus on teaching/playing music with students. Looking for candidates to work Monday/Tuesday/Thursday schedule, with possible other days available. We have immediate need for instructors to teach: VOICE (piano and/or guitar skills a major plus)
ROCK BAND CLASSES
(multiple age ranges)
BEGINNER GROUPS
(4-7 year olds)
What You'll Do:
Teach private lessons (beginner to intermediate) Lead small group band classes (3-5 people) Work with students ages 4-adult in our fully-equipped studio/teaching space
What We Provide:
All equipment, band class curriculum, and lesson materials Training and mentorship from master instructors Administrative staff support Consistent student base with high retention rate - no recruitment required Flexible scheduling around your other gigs and commitments Structured lesson plans for group band classes
Requirements:
Strong skills and musical knowledge on your primary instrument Basic skill on or understanding of other instruments for band coaching (drums, guitar, bass, voice, keys) Must enjoy celebrating student wins - both big breakthroughs and small victories Comfortable being energetic, friendly, and encouraging during lessons Able to maintain patients and positivity when students struggle Reliable and punctual Clean background check required
Preferred:
Multi-instrumentalist abilities Previous teaching experience a plus (but not required for strong candidates) Gigging/performance experience We are looking for musicians who genuinely enjoy working with eager learners, and can make learning engaging.
