Job Description

About the Role Reedy Fork Baptist Church in Simpsonville, SC is seeking a dedicated, self-motivated Church Accompanist to help build and elevate our music ministry. In this role, you will play a vital part in crafting music that complements our liturgy, preaching, and congregational spirit—promoting spiritual growth, harmony, and togetherness through song.
Key Responsibilities Musical Execution & Preparation:
Provide high-quality music for all services (Sunday AM, Sunday PM, and Revivals), accompanying all choirs and church singing units.
Repertoire Management:
Assist in teaching, rehearsing, and maintaining a well-prepared repertoire for public presentation.
Music Selection:
Collaborate with the Pastor and Worship Committee to select suitable music and design programs for special occasions.
Rehearsals & Events:
Attend and actively participate in scheduled rehearsals. Accompany the church for special events (Anniversaries, yearly Cantatas, retreats, funerals) and overnight trips when required (travel and lodging expenses covered) .
Ministry Support:
Assist the Minister of Music with overall duties, including co-planning a yearly training event for the music ministry team.
Professional Stewardship:
Consistently arrive 15 to 30 minutes prior to services and rehearsals. Maintain instruments and work spaces neatly.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of musical experience across various genres.
Instrument Proficiency:
Must be proficient in playing piano, keyboard, and organ .
Musical Versatility:
Ability to read music and play by ear.
Spiritual Alignment:
Fundamentally Christian in belief, demonstrating high integrity, confidentiality, and grace in conflict resolution.
Interpersonal Skills:
Proven ability to connect with diverse age groups—from young children to adults.
Leadership & Work Ethic:
Self-motivated, accountable, and confident in directing rehearsals and singing units.
Problem Solving:
Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills to adapt gracefully to live worship service changes and constructively resolve rehearsal/scheduling challenges.
Language:
Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Schedule & Policy Details Schedule:
Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:00pm
  • 9:00pm and Saturday mornings starting between 10:00am
  • 11:00am for 2 hours.
Performance Reviews:
Evaluated quarterly by the Minister of Music to ensure alignment with ministry goals.
Absences:
A minimum of 24 hours' advance notice is expected for planned absences whenever possible. Join us as an Accompanist Musician and bring your vibrant energy and musical talent to inspire our community. Pay:
$200.00
  • $250.00 per week Application Question(s): Are you available to work Tuesday and Thursday evening. 6:00pm
  • 9:00pm and Saturday morning for 2 hours? (Starting between 10am and 11am) Are you aligned with the weekly salary range for the position ranging from $200
  • $250 per week?
Are you proficient in playing the piano, organ, and keyboard? (or at least 2 of the 3)
