Job Description
Mountain View Lutheran Church seeks a talented and skilled pianist who will provide primary accompaniment for worship services and coordinate with our choir, band, and instrumental ensembles. This position blends keyboard musicianship with planning and support of vocalists and instrumentalists. Key Responsibilities Provide professional piano music for Sunday services and mid-week worship (seasonal) Accompany and provide support to the Adult Choir for Wednesday evening practice and Sunday performances (typically Sept through June) Collaborate with Choir Director, Pastoral Staff and Worship Planning team on the selection of hymns, psalms, and liturgical music Coordinate keyboard accompaniment with other instrumentalists and vocalists Accompany special music soloists (periodic) Monitor and report on the working order of the church pianos and other keyboard instruments Provide professional piano music for special events (weddings, memorials, vacation bible school), as available Qualifications Strong piano proficiency College-level music education and/or comparable experience preferred Understanding of liturgical worship Ability to plan, organize, communicate, and collaborate with Pastors, staff, and congregation members Hours & Compensation Part-time, hourly. Typically 10 hours a week, may expand to more hours based on seasonal activities.
