This energetic role involves guiding students through the creative process of stage performances, managing all aspects of production, and fostering a love for the performing arts. The ideal candidate will bring a vibrant theatrical background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to nurturing young talent in a collaborative environment. Duties Plan, coordinate, and direct junior high theatrical productions from casting to final performance, ensuring high-quality stage presentations. Collaborate with teachers, students, and technical teams to develop creative concepts and production schedules. Oversee the use of theatrical lighting equipment, sound systems, projection systems, and stage rigging to create immersive performances. Manage budgets for productions, including sourcing costumes, props, and technical equipment while maintaining cost efficiency. Teach students acting techniques, choreography (including dancing and ballet), stage movement, and performance skills through engaging rehearsals. Operate live event AV production projects such as sound mixing, lighting cues, and projection coordination during performances. Lead theatrical teams including stage crew, lighting technicians, sound operators, and performers to ensure smooth production flow. Conduct rehearsals focusing on live production performance skills, emphasizing public speaking and stage presence. Maintain safety standards related to theatrical equipment and stage rigging during all rehearsals and performances. Document production processes through writing detailed scripts, rehearsal notes, and performance reports for continuous improvement. Skills Strong background in performing arts direction with experience in theater production for youth audiences. Proficiency in theatrical lighting equipment, sound systems, stage rigging, and live AV production projects. Demonstrated ability to teach dance styles such as ballet and general movement techniques effectively to students. Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate young performers and manage diverse teams confidently. Experience managing budgets for theatrical productions while maintaining quality standards. Skilled in public speaking with the ability to deliver clear instructions during rehearsals and performances. Knowledge of projection system operation for multimedia presentations during shows. Ability to coordinate multiple aspects of stage productions including choreography, technical elements, and live performance execution. Strong writing skills for creating scripts, rehearsal plans, and performance documentation. Passion for teaching visual & performing arts with a commitment to fostering creativity in middle school students.
