The National Account Manager will be responsible for driving and implementing national programs for their assigned account, while serving as the primary sales contact for Regional Live Goods Merchants. The National Account Manager will run day to day operations for their assigned account including retailer systems maintenance, retail execution planning while being the primary point of contact for Bonnie Plants Station Managers and Sales team leaders regarding retail operation questions. To be successful, this person must have a strong understanding of the retail environment and project management skills that will lead to flawless in store execution driven by outstanding communication skills and an ability to establish positive internal and external relationships. The National Account Manager reports to National Sales Director.
Responsibilities:
Achieve an annual top line sales and profitability plan for assigned account
Serve as primary sales contact for Regional Live Goods Merchants, leading regional businessreviews and planning that align to national account strategies
Execute item set ups and pricing changes for price increases or promotional activity
Coordinate with eCommerce team to ensure interconnected experience between physicalstores and virtual environment.
Develop retail operational plan that drives the execution of assigned account strategic salesplan, while working closely with sales execution manager on operational implementation
New product initiatives
Season readiness
Promotional plans
Review in store audits for execution tracking and leverage to drive continuous improvement forassigned account
Manage internal integrated business plan for assigned account that tracks and ensuresalignment of promotions, Bonnie advertising and retailer advertising
Create and/ or understand financial metrics of proposed or initiated programs
Account sales and KPI performance tracking to understand business health from both anaccount and Bonnie perspective, with recommendations to amplify or correct outlying activities
Report back on program or product initiatives with recommendations based on learned insightsand ROI analysis
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of business experience with 2 years of national account managementexperience is required; previous experience in live goods preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Effective and timely verbal and non-verbal communication a must
Expert level proficiency with Excel and Power-Point
Possess a strong understanding of retail environment and key levers that drive accountacceptance
Must be detail orientated with strong project management skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment is essential.
Must be able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to "sit-in" for the respective Director if needed in the presence of senior leadership
Must be flexible and willing to travel to maximize business opportunities as they arise
Aptitude to fit and affect change within a multi-dimensional culture Work Environment The job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting with occasional work in a home center type environment.
Activities include extended periods of sitting and extensive work at a computer monitor. Travel 20-30% Travel. Higher travel is expected during the spring season.
