Position Summary The Service & Rental Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the service department and equipment rental operations. This individual will lead a team of technicians and service personnel while ensuring efficient shop operations, outstanding customer satisfaction, and profitable department performance. The ideal candidate is a motivated leader with strong organizational skills, mechanical knowledge, and a passion for delivering excellent customer service. ResponsibilitiesService Department Management Manage the daily operations of the service department. Schedule and coordinate technician workloads to maximize efficiency and productivity. Ensure timely completion of repairs, maintenance, and warranty work. Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction. Review and approve repair estimates and service invoices. Monitor technician performance and provide coaching and training opportunities. Maintain service department profitability and labor recovery goals. Manage warranty claims and manufacturer compliance requirements. Rental Department Management Oversee the dealership's equipment rental fleet. Coordinate rental reservations, deliveries, pickups, and equipment availability. Ensure all rental equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and ready for customer use. Monitor rental utilization rates and identify opportunities for fleet growth or replacement. Develop and maintain rental pricing strategies and policies. Work closely with customers to recommend the appropriate equipment for their needs. Customer Service & Sales Support Provide exceptional customer service by addressing service and rental inquiries promptly and professionally. Build strong relationships with commercial, agricultural, and residential customers. Collaborate with the sales department to support equipment deliveries, customer training, and service after the sale. Assist in resolving customer concerns and service-related issues. Inventory & Operations Manage shop supplies, rental accessories, and departmental inventory. Ensure compliance with safety standards and dealership policies. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. Utilize dealership management software to track work orders, rental contracts, and department performance. Prepare departmental reports and monitor key performance indicators.

Qualifications Required:

Previous management or supervisory experience in equipment service, rental, automotive, agricultural, or construction industries. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of equipment systems. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with computers and dealership management software. Valid driver's license.

Preferred:

Experience working with compact construction equipment, tractors, commercial mowing equipment, or agricultural machinery. Knowledge of Bobcat, LS Tractor, Exmark, or similar equipment brands. Experience managing technicians and shop operations. Familiarity with warranty administration and rental fleet management.
