Job Description
JD Kurtz Inc is a locally owned business with international recognition and a multi-layered client base. As both a local interior design showroom and a national rug design company, we are seeking a talented and versatile graphic designer who can toggle between both faces of our brand and be a strong marketing coordinator across a variety of platforms and mediums. Applicants should have a dynamic artistic vision and an eye for detail, along with a love of design, typography, and digital imaging. This role requires a team player with proven creative skills and the ability to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines. The ideal candidate is one who is able to manage multiple projects & timelines independently, generate creative ideas, and execute campaigns that speak persuasively to their respective audiences.
Responsibilities include:
- Conceptualizing, designing, and producing professional creative marketing pieces for both online and print that establish and reinforce the company's brand, image, and messaging platform.
- Partnering with the General Manager to understand current business strategy and translate it into clear, creative execution.
- Designing collateral including emails, brochures, presentations and newsletters.
- Developing creative for direct marketing campaigns—letters, postcards, and 3D mailers.
- Developing layouts and templates for Kurtz Collections' digital presence—social media posts, landing pages, intranet assets, and templates.
- Developing layouts and templates for New Moon's digital presence—social media posts, landing pages, intranet assets, and templates.
- Developing print and online advertising.
- Ensuring that the design and production of each piece adheres to established brand standards for color, font selection, quality, and logo usage.
- Designing and producing all assigned projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Working with the General Manager to brainstorm creative strategies and executions.
- Diligently maintaining a design library, digital files, and records.
- Working with key vendors, liaising on production, estimating/budgeting, and design specifications.
Technical Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Approximately 3 years of experience in graphic design with a proven portfolio of work.
- Strong skills in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat) in a Windows and Mac environment.
- Expert knowledge of all stages of graphic design from concept to production.
- Ability to produce creative, artistic products in a demanding environment while maintaining a high level of quality.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills when prioritizing and meeting required deadlines.
- Working knowledge of CSS and HTML best practices.
- Strong understanding of responsive digital experience and execution.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) in a Windows and Mac environment.
