Arts Wayland Fall Internship Description:

Arts Wayland runs a gallery and gathering space in Wayland town center, while also partnering with venues across Metro-West for nomadic programming across the region. We exhibit local artists' work, host classes and workshops, present events; including artist talks and receptions, music 'open mic' nights, Jazz Sundays, author events and more. The Arts Wayland Internship will increaseanizational capacity, provide staffing support, cultivate new arts leaders, and enhance our internal systems and operations to build a sustainable future to ensure that Arts Wayland (AW) bes a more equitable, accessible, and thriving creative hub. AW staff hopes to collaborate with interns to learn about current artistic trends, connect with emerging artists, and reach beyond the boundaries of our currentmunity. This program will spark a cycle of conversation and growth for Interns, Staff, and Board, while expanding the pipeline of diverse andmunity-rooted talent in the arts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking two interns for the Fall semester/season. Interns at Arts Wayland generally work between 6 and 8 hours per week and their schedule can be crafted in collaboration with Arts Wayland staff around existingmitments and Arts Wayland events. We do ask that interns work a consistent schedule each week. T may be times when interns are asked to work evenings or weekends for special events, which will be discussed with the intern well in advance of the event. This is a hybrid position with approximately 4-6 hours onsite and 2-4 hours remote. Interns must provide their own transportation to Wayland. Hybrid options may be available in coordination with the Internship Program Director. The duties of the position include, but are not limited to: Weekly onsite shifts at the Arts Wayland gallery for a minimum of 4hrs onsite; Support gallery staffing schedule in partnership with Internship Program Director, AW staff, AW Board and Artist Members; Provide administrative support for programming and outreach; Promptly aplish projects assigned by Arts Wayland staff,municate challenges and questions, and report progress regularly; Attend trainings (as needed) with Board Members based on timely needs (box office, social media support, etc); Establish systems for tracking audience demographics and engagement; Document standard operating procedure in gallery management, event support, and administration in partnership with Board of Directors and Staff; Assist with special events as needed; Attend meetings as needed; Conduct research to identify potential grant opportunities and funding prospects aligned withanizational priorities; Support development team in drafting,anizing, and tracking grant applications and donor information; Act as an Arts Wayland ambassador and resource to the public; Coordinate and create an Internship Art Happening in collaboration with other Interns and Arts Wayland staff. The uing Intern-driven event will be a Story-telling event on September 25th.

COMPENSATION

The Fall Intern role will run September/October 2026 - December 2026/January 2027 with a schedule built in collaboration with Arts Wayland staff around existingmitments. This is a stipend position and Fall Interns will each be offered $1000 for the full term of their internship in a mutually agreed upon payment schedule. College students may do an internship for course credit through their college or university if applicable. Arts Wayland staff are available to assist students with credit requirements through their college or university program.
