Position Overview Hydra Aquatics is seeking a creative, organized, and reliable Social Media & Marketing Coordinator to support the organization's marketing and communications efforts. This part-time role will help Hydra consistently communicate with current and prospective families through social media, graphics, promotions, and other marketing materials. The ideal candidate has experience with Canva, understands social media, and can take information from coaches and team leaders and turn it into clear, engaging content with a strong call to action.

Pay:
$15-$20 per hour Key Responsibilities Social Media & Content Manage and maintain Hydra's social media presence, primarily Instagram and Facebook. Develop and maintain a social media content calendar. Create and schedule regular posts, Stories, announcements, and promotional content. Write clear, engaging captions that communicate key information and encourage action. Coordinate with coaches, program leaders, and Hydra staff to gather information and identify content opportunities. Help highlight swimmer accomplishments, team activities, programs, events, registration opportunities, and important announcements. Monitor comments, messages, tags, and mentions and help keep Hydra's online community engaged. Graphic Design Create professional, on-brand graphics. Canva preferred, but other programs accepted. Turn program information, announcements, schedules, promotions, and team updates into easy-to-understand social media graphics. Develop graphics with a clear purpose and call to action, such as: Register, Learn More, Sign Up, Try Out, or Contact Us. Maintain consistency with Hydra's branding, including colors, fonts, logos, and overall visual style. Support the creation of flyers, promotional materials, and other digital marketing assets as needed. Marketing Support Support marketing and promotional efforts for Hydra's swim team, swim lessons, Hydra FX, homeschool swim program, aqua fitness, and other programs. Help promote registration, tryouts, special programs, events, and seasonal offerings. Assist with email, website, or other marketing updates as needed. Help identify opportunities to improve communication and awareness of Hydra programs. Social Media Planning & Analytics Track basic social media performance, including reach, engagement, and audience growth. Identify what types of content perform well and make recommendations for future content. Stay current on social media trends and best practices relevant to youth sports and community organizations. Qualifications Experience managing social media for a business, organization, team, or similar group. Experience using Canva for graphic design - preferred. Strong writing and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate information clearly. Ability to take information from multiple team members and turn it into polished, audience-friendly content. Organized and able to manage multiple deadlines and priorities. Comfortable working independently while collaborating with coaches and Hydra leadership. Basic understanding of social media analytics and scheduling tools. Knowledge of swimming, competitive swimming, or youth sports is preferred. Photography and basic video skills are a plus, but extensive video production experience is not required. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who can look at a program announcement or a conversation with a coach and quickly think: "How do we communicate this clearly, make it look good, and tell people what to do next?" You should be creative, proactive, dependable, and comfortable working with a team in a youth sports environment. Schedule This is a part-time position requiring approximately 15 hours per week. The schedule is flexible but will include occasional in-person time at Hydra practices, meets, or events to gather information and content. Some evening and weekend availability may be needed during the competitive swim season. About Hydra Aquatics Hydra was born during the pandemic as a not-for-profit competitive USA sanctioned swim team in central Ohio. Our goal is to empower young people to be champions in and out of the water.
