COMMERCIAL SALES & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
CertaPro Painters® of Orland Park, Homewood & Kankakee County Full-Time | Base Salary
+ Commission
+ Bonuses
BUILD A TERRITORY. CREATE RELATIONSHIPS. GROW YOUR INCOME.
CertaPro Painters® is hiring an experienced B2B sales professional to grow our commercial painting division across Chicago's south and southwest suburbs. This is a hunter-focused role—not a position built around waiting for inbound leads. We need someone who can identify target accounts, reach decision-makers, earn trust, develop opportunities, and close profitable projects. Your primary responsibility is new business development. After the sale, you will remain the client's relationship manager while partnering with our Operations Manager and field team. You will not run painting crews, but you will stay engaged from the first conversation through the final walk-through.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
Build and manage a targeted prospect list and active sales pipeline. Generate opportunities through cold calls, email outreach, networking, referrals, site visits, and industry relationships. Develop relationships with property and facility managers, general contractors, and decision-makers in healthcare, industrial, municipal, educational, HOA, and multi-unit markets. Conduct site visits, measurements, pre-bid meetings, and project walk-throughs. Prepare accurate estimates and clear proposals covering labor, materials, equipment, schedules, and project expectations. Present proposals, negotiate terms, ask for the business, and follow up until a decision is made. Coordinate project handoffs and maintain client communication throughout production. Build repeat business through strong service, referrals, professional events, client lunches, golf outings, and other appropriate networking opportunities.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Three or more years of successful B2B outside sales, business development, or commercial account-management experience. A proven record of creating and closing opportunities you personally generated. Confidence prospecting by phone, email, networking, and in-person outreach. Strong presentation, negotiation, follow-up, and relationship-building skills. Ability to organize multiple prospects, estimates, and projects. Experience using a CRM to track activity, pipeline, next steps, and forecasts. A valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the territory. Experience in commercial painting, coatings, construction, facility services, building materials, estimating, or project management is strongly preferred. A degree is welcome but not required. Proven performance and accountability matter more.
HOW SUCCESS WILL BE MEASURED
Success will be measured by qualified opportunities, pipeline growth, proposals submitted, profitable revenue, gross margin, forecast accuracy, client satisfaction, and repeat business.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Anticipated annual cash compensation: $60,000-$150,000 Base salary plus commission on profitable commercial sales Expected first-year earnings: $60,000-$80,000 during pipeline development Performance-based bonuses Company vehicle, cell phone, tablet, and computer Company-matching investment account Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off, paid holidays, training, and professional development
HOW TO APPLY
Submit your résumé with a brief response to these questions: Describe a commercial account or project you personally prospected and won. What types of customers and decision-makers have you sold to? How would you build a commercial pipeline during your first 90 days? CertaPro Painters® is an equal-opportunity employer. Each CertaPro Painters® business is independently owned and operated. This franchise is independently owned and operated by a franchisee. Your application will go directly to the franchisee, and all hiring decisions will be made by the management of this franchisee.
