$90-$110k base plus uncapped commissions and bonus opportunities Our client, an established cooperative purchasing organization, is seeking a Territory Sales Manager to develop new business and strengthen relationships with schools, municipalities, and other public entities. Internally titled Member Service Manager, this role helps members save money by connecting their purchasing needs with supplier solutions. Prior experience selling into K-12 schools or districts is required. The territory includes established Massachusetts relationships and a particular focus on expanding business in Connecticut. You'll work closely with a dedicated Member Service Specialist as your sales partner. Responsibilities Develop and execute territory and sales plans to grow membership, engagement, and retention. Prospect for new business and build relationships with current and prospective members. Conduct visits, presentations, and consultations to understand purchasing needs and connect members with appropriate suppliers. Represent the organization at conferences, trade shows, and professional events. Resolve member concerns and assist with revenue collection activities as needed. Maintain accurate CRM records, activity reports, and territory plans; use member feedback and market trends to identify opportunities. Collaborate with colleagues and learn and apply purchasing contracts and compliance requirements. Qualifications Experience selling into K-12 organizations, with five or more years in sales, business development, account management, member services, customer success, or a related field. Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong relationship-building, customer service, presentation, and written communication skills. Ability to prospect, achieve goals independently, manage competing priorities, and work collaboratively. Experience with CRM systems, databases, reporting tools, and Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Analytical problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a professional approach grounded in integrity and accountability. Existing contracts and compliance knowledge or the ability to learn quickly.
Preferred:
Experience with cooperative purchasing, procurement, membership organizations, higher education, municipal organizations, or public-sector sales. A degree in Business, Marketing, Management, Communications, or a related field is also preferred. Compensation and Benefits $90-$110k base salary and uncapped commissions. A properly equipped home office with secure, reliable internet is required. The role includes extended periods of computer and desk work.
