$70,000-$90,000 annually Haverhill Pavilion Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking an experienced and relationship-driven Director of Business Development to lead business development efforts across our inpatient behavioral health services and our developing Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This is an exciting opportunity to join Haverhill Pavilion during a period of growth. In addition to strengthening and expanding referral relationships for our established inpatient services, this position will play an important role in the launch and growth of our new PHP and IOP services. What You'll Do The Director of Business Development is responsible for developing and executing strategies that increase appropriate referrals, strengthen community partnerships, support census growth, and expand awareness of Haverhill Pavilion's continuum of behavioral health services.
Key responsibilities include:
Develop and maintain strong referral relationships with hospitals, emergency departments, behavioral health providers, physicians, outpatient providers, community agencies, schools/colleges as appropriate, and other referral partners throughout the region. Drive appropriate referrals and census growth for Haverhill Pavilion's inpatient psychiatric services. Develop the referral network and business development strategy for Haverhill Pavilion's new PHP and IOP programs. Introduce PHP/IOP services to existing inpatient referral partners while identifying new outpatient referral sources. Build relationships that support a strong continuum of care between inpatient, PHP, IOP, and community-based behavioral health services. Identify opportunities for growth based on referral trends, community needs, service gaps, and market conditions. Maintain consistent contact with referral sources and ensure timely follow-up on referral concerns, barriers, and opportunities. Partner closely with Admissions, Utilization Management, Clinical Services, Outpatient Services, medical staff, and hospital leadership to identify and address barriers to referrals and admissions. Track referral activity, referral sources, conversion trends, lost referrals, and other key business development metrics. Use data to develop targeted outreach strategies and evaluate the effectiveness of business development efforts. Represent Haverhill Pavilion at community meetings, professional events, networking opportunities, and other outreach activities. Develop and execute outreach plans for new and existing programs. Support marketing and community education efforts related to Haverhill Pavilion's services. Maintain knowledge of behavioral health resources, competitors, referral patterns, and community needs throughout the hospital's service area. Provide regular updates to hospital leadership regarding business development activity, referral trends, opportunities, and barriers. Lead and support members of the Business Development team and establish clear expectations for outreach activity and results. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, healthcare administration, behavioral health, communications, or a related field preferred. Business development, marketing, outreach, referral development, or healthcare sales experience required. Behavioral health or healthcare business development experience strongly preferred. Experience developing relationships with hospitals, providers, community organizations, and other healthcare referral sources preferred. Experience supporting inpatient behavioral health, PHP, IOP, or other behavioral health service lines is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to develop referral relationships and translate outreach efforts into measurable growth. Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Comfortable working independently in the community while also collaborating closely with hospital leadership and clinical teams. Strong organizational skills and ability to track and use referral data to guide business development activity. Valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and reliable access to a vehicle for community outreach and referral development. Why Haverhill Pavilion? Salary Range:
