Sales Manager

Job Description

Lake Norman Marina Sales Manager Premium Marine Dealership |
Lake Norman, North Carolina The Opportunity:
Lake Norman Marina is adding a hands-on Sales Manager to help build and scale an already successful premium marine business. This is not a turnaround role. The right leader will preserve the company's strong customer relationships and team culture while bringing greater process discipline, coaching, accountability and sales growth. About Lake Norman Marina Lake Norman Marina serves the Lake Norman boating community through premium boat sales, service, marina operations, storage and boat club experiences. Our business is built on long-term customer relationships, high-level brands, professional guidance and a culture that values doing the right thing for customers and teammates. What You Will Own
  • Lead the daily sales operating rhythm and stay actively involved with customers, sales consultants, demos, sea trials, trade conversations and deal support.
  • Create consistent execution of the Lake Norman Marina sales process and CRM from first inquiry through delivery and ownership follow-up.
  • Coach the team through daily opportunity reviews, save-a-deal meetings, role-play, product training, onboarding and individual development.
  • Deliver the approved goals for unit volume, revenue, gross margin, lead conversion, appointments, demos, quotes, deposits and deliveries.
  • Maintain a strong focus on aged inventory and inventory turns through product training, customer matching and unit-specific action plans.
  • Partner closely with F&I, reinforce financing early in the customer conversation, monitor penetration and products, and cross-train as the backup F&I manager.
  • Protect a premium customer experience, resolve customer concerns across departments and ensure a professional delivery and ownership handoff.
  • Re-engage past and orphaned customers and build new sales opportunities from service, storage, marina, boat club, referrals, events and the Lake Norman community.
  • Participate in leadership planning and help turn growth goals into practical monthly, weekly and daily actions.
What Success Looks Like Process The sales team follows a clear process, CRM information is current and next steps are visible. Performance Volume, gross margin, conversion, customer follow-up and inventory-turn results improve against the approved plan. People The existing team is retained, coached and developed while accountability and consistency increase. Customers Customers experience responsive communication, professional demos and deliveries, and seamless coordination across the business. Growth Past customers and service, storage, marina and boat club relationships become repeatable sources of qualified sales opportunities. Leadership The Sales Manager is equally comfortable thinking strategically and working beside the team in the trenches. The Experience We Value
  • Successful sales leadership in marine, RV, powersports, automotive, luxury retail or another high-ticket consultative sales environment; premium marine experience is preferred.
  • A documented record of improving sales process execution, CRM discipline, lead conversion, gross margin, coaching and team accountability.
  • Experience managing aged inventory and helping a team sell value rather than relying only on discounting.
  • Strong customer judgment and the ability to resolve complex or emotionally charged customer situations professionally.
  • Working knowledge of F&I, finance handoffs and product penetration, with the willingness and ability to cross-train as a backup F&I resource.
  • High product curiosity and the ability to become an expert in premium boat brands, technology, customer lifestyles and Lake Norman boating use cases.
  • A visible, humble and hands-on leadership style. This is not an office-only role.
  • The ability to enter a successful team, earn trust, protect the culture and create greater clarity without unnecessary disruption.
