This is not a desk-only management position. The General Manager must be equally comfortable reviewing financial reports, leading staff meetings, managing shop workflow, resolving operational problems, and visiting local businesses to inspect fleets and develop new commercial accounts. Position Summary The General Manager is responsible for the overall financial and operational performance of Golf Cart Mech. This person will manage the company's profit and loss statement, lead monthly financial meetings, oversee repair and sales flow, control operating costs, develop the team, and create practical strategies for growing commercial and fleet accounts. The right candidate is a calm, accountable leader who understands that profitability, customer satisfaction, employee performance, repair turnaround time, parts availability, inventory control, and quality assurance are all connected. Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management Manage the company's profit and loss statement and understand the operational factors affecting revenue and profitability. Lead monthly revenue and profit meetings with the leadership team. Monitor performance against monthly and quarterly revenue, gross-profit, expense, and cash-flow targets. Develop and manage budgets for fixed operating costs, payroll, parts purchasing, inventory, and other business expenses. Review financial performance in QuickBooks and maintain accurate, timely management reporting. Understand gross margin, markup, labor profitability, break-even calculations, financing costs, and interest-rate calculations. Identify financial problems early and develop practical corrective-action plans. Protect company cash flow by managing expenses, purchasing, inventory levels, receivables, and operational efficiency. Service, Sales, and Shop Operations Own the monthly flow of repair and sales units required to achieve company revenue and profitability goals. Monitor carts through every stage of the repair, customization, and sales process. Keep the company's service-ticket tracker and in-house CRM accurate and up to date. Maintain and report key performance indicators, including repair turnaround time, technician productivity, parts delays, work in progress, quality issues, and completed-cart volume. Identify workflow bottlenecks and coordinate staff, parts, scheduling, and customer approvals to keep work moving. Work directly with technicians and parts staff when a difficult or uncommon component cannot be readily identified or sourced. Serve as the senior operational resource for difficult parts-sourcing and fitment challenges by using supplier relationships, catalogs, research, and industry knowledge to locate the correct components. Oversee parts ordering, supplier accounts, backorders, special orders, and inventory controls. Ensure every completed cart receives a documented final quality-control inspection and road test when appropriate. Confirm that all authorized customer requests have been completed correctly before delivery. Ensure carts are properly washed and detailed before being returned to customers. Leadership and Staff Management Lead, coach, and hold staff accountable for performance, quality, productivity, professionalism, and customer care. Conduct regular leadership and staff meetings with clear agendas, assignments, deadlines, and follow-up. Delegate work effectively while maintaining ownership of final results. Establish clear daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly priorities. Address performance concerns promptly, professionally, and consistently. Support technicians and other employees when difficult operational problems arise. Remain calm, respectful, and solutions-focused during busy or stressful situations. Help build a workplace culture centered on accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and excellent service. Understand—or demonstrate the ability to quickly learn—the differences among service manuals, technician/repair manuals, wiring diagrams, illustrated parts catalogs, and illustrated parts breakdowns, including when and how each resource should be used. Coordinate staffing and workloads to meet customer commitments without sacrificing safety or quality. Commercial Account Growth Develop creative, practical plans for acquiring and growing commercial and fleet accounts throughout Denton County. Visit local businesses, property managers, municipalities, schools, campuses, event venues, golf facilities, and other organizations that operate golf cart fleets. Inspect customer fleets, identify service needs, and help develop appropriate maintenance or repair solutions. Build long-term relationships with commercial customers and create recurring service opportunities. Maintain an organized commercial prospect pipeline and follow-up schedule. Work with company leadership to develop fleet-maintenance programs, service agreements, and account-growth strategies. Represent Golf Cart Mech professionally during customer visits, inspections, and business-development activities. Customer Experience Uphold the highest standards of customer service and customer satisfaction. Ensure estimates, approvals, repair updates, delays, and completion expectations are communicated clearly. Resolve escalated customer concerns fairly, professionally, and promptly. Verify that customer commitments are documented and fulfilled. Identify recurring complaints or service failures and implement improvements that prevent them from happening again. Required Qualifications Demonstrated experience managing business operations, a service department, repair facility, dealership, automotive or powersports operation, or a similar customer-service business. Proven experience reading, managing, and taking action from a profit and loss statement. Strong mechanical research ability and the willingness to quickly learn how to locate, interpret, and apply OEM service information, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, serial-number data, and illustrated parts breakdowns. Strong working knowledge of budgeting, payroll planning, inventory, purchasing, gross margin, interest rates, and operating expenses. Experience using QuickBooks for financial review and business management. Experience supervising employees, delegating work, conducting meetings, and holding teams accountable. Strong leadership, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and composure. Ability and willingness to learn Golf Cart Mech's in-house CRM and operating systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to qualify under the company's commercial auto-insurance requirements. Ability to travel locally throughout Denton County for fleet inspections, customer meetings, and business development.
