This is a high-activity business development position focused on generating new business through prospecting, outbound sales activity, face-to-face selling, decision-maker engagement, consultative discovery, and disciplined territory and pipeline management.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Business Developer generates new business by qualifying opportunities and engaging key decision-makers through phone and in-person sales calls. Success requires confidence selling essential services, disciplined daily execution, persistence, and strong consultative selling skills including active listening, effective questioning, objection handling, and clear communication. The role requires significant activity in the field and direct interaction with businesses throughout the assigned territory. The Business Developer works closely with the internal team to transition newly generated opportunities and job orders for fulfillment while continuing to develop and expand client relationships.

HIGH-ACTIVITY SALES EXPECTATIONS
Complete 120 Total Weekly Sales Calls Including 100 Face-To-Face Visits Complete A Minimum Of 60 Decision-Maker Calls Each Week Conduct 5 Strategic Decision-Maker Appointments Per Week Self-Generate Opportunities Through Networking, Referrals And Outbound Activities Document 100% Of Daily Sales Calls In The Automated System Establish Next Action Steps To Keep Prospects And Clients Moving Through The Pipeline Execute Daily Sales Plans, Address Objections And Document Outcomes

WORKING CONDITIONS
Essential activities are conducted away from the local office and within various office and plant settings. The position requires significant local travel and may involve exposure to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions. The Business Developer must be able to work effectively under the pressure of daily travel, deadlines, commitments, and account issues.
